v1.00 released...

Postby Andrew on Tue Nov 25, 2003 4:19 pm

I've received my copy of the PC version, so here at last is the NLSC Current Roster Update for NBA Live 2004!

v1.00 contains:
- 2003/2004 rosters updated through November 24th
- Some player ratings and data updated

Please note Alonzo Mourning's retirement is not reflected in v1.00; I will fix that in v1.01. I also plan to add career stats for created veterans and real salaries within the next couple of updates. Also, please read the installation instructions carefully so that you install the patch to the correct folder.

You can download the rosters here.

underrated players: baron davis and lebron james.

Postby nba_fantastic on Tue Nov 25, 2003 7:29 pm

baron davis is
#2 in ppg
#2 in steals per game
#1 in assists
#1 in 3point FGs
and is rated at 83. Jason Kidd is an 89, i guess baron should be at least an 88.

lebron james is
also under rated for his game. i don't think his FT shooting is as bad as his rating.

Did you happen to edit Vin Baker's ratings?

And is there a way to make him the skinny Vin again?

Thanks! Looking forward to further updates!

Oversight. They'll be added in v1.01.

I did update Vin Baker's ratings based on his performance this year. I can make him skinny by editing his body size; I'll do that in the next update. (Y)

Thanks for the feedback guys, keep it coming. :)

I don't know why, but the patch doesnt work for me.

I installed it and all that, then i go to Load/Save and I don't see a roster file under 000 or 001.

Please help, Andrew.

Thanks.

The default installation folder is set for Windows 98; it doesn't automatically detect the correct folder. Check UPDATE.txt for possible locations of NBA Live 2004 saves files for XP users.

Improving the installation routine is something I'm hoping to do within the next couple of updates. Hopefully I can eliminate the need to specify the correct folder.

Hey Andrew! are we going to see a better substitution pattern in the next version, like the real ones?

I'll try. I can tell you that real salaries and career stats for created veterans will both be in v1.01, along with other suggestions and corrections.

Sometime this week. I'm waiting for the Chicago-Toronto to become official and the new jersey numbers announced, as well as fixing up some other details.

Some of the things that will be in v1.01:
- Updated ratings/player info
- Career stats for created veterans
- Real salaries and salary cap
- Some missing Legends added
- Bands and accessories added/removed as necessary

Tuesday or Wednesday is probably the earliest I release it, so if there's anything else that needs mentioning, speak now or wait for v1.02.

@Andrew:

I went through the original ratings and noted the ratings which I believe are wrong and should be altered for the next roster release. Most of them are scroing-related ratings, I didn't get too much into the rebound ratings or others because the scoring ratings are the most important for realistic gameplay, IMHO.

This list surely isn't complete but these are the ratings that I felt needed to be changed the most, and not everyone may agree with me, but maybe some of them will be considered in the next roster update.

- Kobe Bryant: FG is a little too low

- Kevin Garnett: FG ist too low (why does Garnett have 66 and Webber 79???)

- Tracy McGrady: FG is too low

- Paul Pierce: 3Pt is too low

- Vince Carter: 3PT is a little too low

- Jermaine O'Neal: FG is too low

- Shawn Marion: FG is too low

- Steve Nash: 3PT is too low

- Rashard Lewis: FG and 3PT are too low

- Corey Maggette: FG is too low

- Ron Artest: should be all-around better (FG, 3PT, Speed, Strength, Def. Awareness)

- Brad Miller: FG and Passing are too low

- Amare Stoudamire: FG is too low

- LeBron James: Quickness, Passing, Off. Awareness, Def. Rebounds and Stealing are too low (FG and 3PT are a little low as well)

- Andrei Kirilenko: should be all-around better (FG, (3PT),Inside-Scoring, Off.Reb. and maybe Quickness/Speed)

- Desmond Mason: FG is too low

- Rip Hamilton: Fg is a little low

- Richard Jefferson: FG is too low

- Matt Harpring: FG is too low

- Al Harrington: Inside-Scoring is too low

- Caron Butler: FG and 3PT are too low

- Carlos Boozer: FG and Inside-Scoring are too low

- Larry Hughes: FG and 3Pt are too low

- Jamal Magloire: Inside-Scoring is too low

- Derek Fisher: FG is way too high!

- Nene: FG, Inside-Scoring and Def.Reb. are too low

- Eddy Curry: FG and Inside-Scoring are too low

- Chris Bosh: should be all-around better (FG, Inside-Soring!!, Off.Reb., Blocking)

- Mehmet Okur: FG and Inside-Scoring are too low

- Erick Dampier: FG, Inside-Scoring and Def.Reb. are way too low)

- Zach Randolph: should be all-around better (FG!!, Inside-Scoring!!, Off. Reb., Def.Reb.)

- Carlos Arroyo: FG is too low

- Vin Baker: FG, Inside-Scoring and Def.Reb. are too low

- Tayshaun Prince: FG is too low

- Ronald Muray: FG and 3PT are way too low

I've changed some of those ratings already in v1.00, but I'll take another look at all of the players you've mentioned. :)
