weird trading bug?

Postby mnms on Sun Nov 23, 2003 7:05 pm

Hey guys..

I was playing one of my franchises.. and I traded mcdyess for yao,
and it went thru.. The weird thing tho is that I later realized that
their salaries arent even close to matching. its something like 300k vs 100k i think.. So then I tested this trading glitch.. I traded van horn (270k)
for some scrub that was getting paid the minimum, and it went through!

I don't understand.. maybe it's a random weird bug.. when I created thjis franchise..
because I have another franchise, and I tried the same dice for yao trade
and I was denied because their salaries didn't match..

Has anyone else see this happen before?

nah, if u are over the cap, the 15% rule applies, but if its under, it doesn't apply, its not a glitch

This is a glitch in player trades. Try Trading Tim Duncan to the Nets for Brian Scalabrine. The deal shouldn't go through due to the Nets being over the cap and the salaries not being remotely close, but it will be accepted. It seems if the CPU is heavily favoured by the trade, the salary cap is ignored.

So there is a force trade option in the game???

That would explain alot of these weird trades going through. I have always thought that the trading AI was pretty smart and stuck to the rules. Only thing you could exploit was the thing where you trade a couple of declining veterans for a hot prospect, but not much else ever got by the AI.

Still don't have the game... Soon...

NBA live has never been a good franchise game,, it's terrible actually. If you want to play proper realistic NBA franchise, stick with "fast break basketball" "total pro basketball"

If that's the case, that's definitely not the problem.
