CPU Blocking

Postby Naori13 on Sun Nov 23, 2003 4:16 am

(P.S - 'Grats 4 my first post :)

Is it just me or blocks still happen quite unrealisticly ?

The CPU is usually able to get atleast 8-10 blocks out of me, mostly blocking 3ptrs !

I must say that even after messing with the sliders this hasnt changed(blocks set to 0, still getting around 8, and blocking many 3's).

And blocking my self with sliders set to 0 isnt too difficult....

any solution for this ?

thanks in advance...
Ori.

yea if ur playing against a player like vince carter, jason richardson, mcgrady(guys that have hops) and ur not much taller than that player then they will block you on three's a lot.....or if u play against a big sf like keith wan horn, rashard lewis, rasheed wallace its just how it is

Blocks in this 04 are far 2 easy, i regulary get dbl figures and i only play 4min quarters, i have even turned slider to 0, it makes a slight difference but i could have just played bad D! I played this guy online other night 7min quarters i had 16 blocks with Kevin Garnett. The other thing is there are no volleyball spike blocks where the ball ends up at other end of court this year, so, if u get blocked ur also gonna turn the ball over as well.

It's so easy to block a dunk or lay up as well, I use Lakers, and Shaq is averaging 7 blocks a game.

the volley ball blocks were kinda annoying tho...the problem is that in the game when a player gets blokced they freez and take time to think about what just happened and the other player or comp gets it

yeh its better if after u get blocked u loose the ball, coz many time i would block the and CPU would the ball bak again.
but thiunk about it, how can they make blockes realistic, Cpu players dont move the way pple move bak and forth, they stay straght with PERFECT balance, if u had perfect balace in real life dont u think u would get 10 bpg? and plus u can tell most of the time when computer is shooting and once its set to shoot it will not fake and drive coz it only thinks one way,

look what happence if cpu id down by 4 or 3 and u give them an open lay up, they wont take it coz it knows to take a 3!

The cpu rarely blocks me, cos i move the ball around and run plays untill i get open J's.

Thats what the sliders are for though, lower the blocking sliders if you want.

Worse than that, was when a teammate would automatically run towards the ball, and it would hit him out of bounds.

im tryin to find a solution for this, it sucks seeing van horn block balls all the time, Houston too.

i tryed lowering the players ratings for blocks to zero. seems to have helped out, but i dunno. eh, do what ever to get realisticness right.
