NBA Live 2004 PC Performance

For some reason the framerate gets low when I have a change of possession after a basket and just in general gameplay. Maybe it is my system or bios settings. but it should run very smooth with the system i have.

My system:
Pentium 4 2.6 Ghz
512 DDR RAM
GeForce fx 5700 Ultra
120 GB Hard drive

I have fooled around with the settings and resolutions but all the resolutions run at about the same frames per second. Actually the higher resolutions seem to run better. What settings should i be using? The game is like a snail before the player introductions.

The only other thing I changed after was that I turned lighting to low. I personally think the players look better that way.
