 "NEW GAME DEVELOPERS NEEDED, AND FAST!!!"
Just another bad development of a great series.
It's so sad, I wonder when EA is ever gonna get it right.

You might as well say WHAT's wrong with it. Just bashing the developers is pretty pointless.

Aside from some Franchise issues, and a few jakked up faces, what's so bad? It 's fun, patchable, and challenging. If this game had a great Franchise I would call, it the greatest basketball game ever. (Right now I would still say Live 2000 is the greatest, the franchise was still better. Face it, until you can dunk run and jump in the game yourself, there will never be a perfect game, which this isn't, but it is damn good, and way better than 2003.

Yeah the only problem that is gonna bug me is how the stats go all screwed up in the second year of a franchise, but there will probably be a way to fix that.......

Whats wrong with it?? No fastbreak system at all(user CPU players don't get back and pick up other players....they run stupidly backwords along with the persons they guard...even on half court man to man urgh!!!).....little to no NBA strategy. Bench players and substitution patterns mean nothing! Simulated statsitcs suck and franchise has some serious issues.

The game is worth the $48.93 I paid for it but man this was no way as great a change in the series....the gameplay is the same as last year. NO OFFENSIVE Rebounds!!! Rebound battle is very important in basketball and the ball tends to fall to the ground even with sliders adjust completly in favor of offfensive rebounds!!

Sorry had to rant....the game gets a C or 70 in my reviewe book!

jr
2013 is the year?
Thanks to Vl@d, Leftos and all the other patchers for their hard work.

Are you talking about the PC game? Because on PS2 the computer actually go on fast breaks and they are making offensive rebounds.

Rable rable .... rable rable rable!!!

OK, but if seriously EA is going to read this post, i'd like to add my oppinnion about the game. Allso must consider that i have made my points of first impressions - haven't palyed it much.

First the things i liked about it (very much).

1. Steals - it's just fantastic work, very realistic that one who steals tha ball may lose it.

2 Ball dynamics - finally u got it quite right. The ball bounces quite realisticully and we have longer rebounds in game too. One annoing bug is that sometimes too often the ball goes over the board - it happends, but not so often.

3. Shooting the ball to the game (sry my bad english) - i mean after a basket or foul when one passes the ball beside the court to teammate - understand? :?
That is too a big improvement - good job.

4. Post play (i don't know if i understand it right way but i mean this physical play under the basket - very good)

5. 1-on-1 situations on the fast brake - very realistyc ... and allso fould in those situations.

6. Good defence with its pros and cons.

OK now the bad points.

1. Not so good gameplay with keyboard - hard to win if u can't crossover. Hard to play offence.

2. Gameplay more oriented to the C and PF position. Hard to play offence with guards.

3. Passing - passing animation to long. Ball flies too fast. Hard to get play somebody open with passing strategy.

4. Too tough defence. As i sad it has good points, but the bad point is that offender is stuck with defender too much. That means u can't dribble where u want or pass the ball - its realistic, but bad is that it happends too often. There must be moment when u can just breath and think - not fight with defence all the time. Good point is that this game is not easy to play, but with keyboard its just not fare.

5. Anymations ... they sure are fine and smooth, but... there are too many moves with and1 taste:) Not a bad thing ... basketball cultre crows, but still i'd like to see standard jumshots and passing animations. Just wan't to see animations that give the feel of real NBA.

6. New feature (pro hop or..?)- offcourse it has good points and great improvement with last years edition but if u make next years game u should know: it seems to be too dominant move. Too effective or ... i mean with keyboard its like a only move to get open in the traffic and i'd like to use it too much. I like the dunk/lay-up and jumpshot button thing, but the new pro-hop is too effective or too often turns to be very effective.
(perhaps stupid prohops should cause more turnovers, or "running" ... )

7. I allso add jumpshots (animation) to the bads, but it may be wrong because i haven't got uset to it. Seems to me that C and PF has wierd jumpshots and sometimes guards too - allso has that and1 taste that should be limited maybe.

ok that's all - overall it's great game if u consider live series - it has much to improve but it really has made some real big steps forward - great job.

damn this game needs much testing when we have all those sliders - very complicated. :)

I think the folks at EA wouldn't purposely create a game that is less than what they are capable of creating, if all our wish is that easy to put into program than i'm sure that they have put that into the game already. I think 2004 is a great improvement compared to previous Lives. I personally want to see the Player of the Week back in the news again. Player of the Month will do for now...
