Argghh....opponent on fastbreak all the time! Help please...

Postby Rork73 on Fri Nov 14, 2003 8:49 pm

Everytime I miss a shot one of the opponents guards is running across the middle of the field, receive the ball from a huge pass and scores all the time.

How on earth can I defend against that ? I just don't see how to do it, cause that area is usually outside the camera's field of view...and my team doesn't seem to keep up with that guy at all.

I know I'm making some kind of mistake on the defense/transition, but I don't know enough about this sport to do anything about it :)

Thanks! :)

1) take good shots

2) put your defense to man on man, its the only defense ive found where they run back and pick up defenders

3) take good shots, cant stress that enough

4) I also set other things such as pressure and double teams..this may help

Try changing the defense and see what better stops this from happening. Some defense configuration against some teams works great.

Like someone alreasy said, fastbreaks are hard coded in some team styles of play and cannot be prevented completely.

Well I just immediately choose one of my big men and run down court quickly. Usually works...

Fellas, fast breaks are part of the game. When you have all your guys crashing the offensive boards and then missing a layup, guess what? fast break time for the other team..If it gets out of hand, control a guy that stays back at mid-court and YOU prevent the fast break. But be careful, cause stopping the fast break can result in a lay-up plus one. Peace out!

Immediatly after u fall from the jump shot, start going back, that seems to stop em.
Thing is it's hard remembering to do that every play when u r all focused on scoring...guess it's part of what happens IRL :D

Thanks a lot guys! :) I already did read the thread about adjusting the sliders a bit, but it does seem realistic enough this way.

I mean, I obviously suck big time at D ;) Heheh.....lot of fun this game!

the best thing i have found is to hit L2 immediately(last man back) after the miss. That way your guy closest to opponents basket will be ready to defend. Works most of the time.

speaking of fast breaks.....I assume there's no way to change it so the comp doesn't turn into THE FLASH everytime I go on a fast break.
