Thanks for the feedback smsudi - I'll try further tweaks based on your results.

Do you know how I can get the player stats to show up as readable in the forum?

smsudi wrote:Do you know how I can get the player stats to show up as readable in the forum?

i use notepad and the lucida console font. line everything up then copy and paste it between the 'code' tags.

example:

Code:
Ben Wallace

  pts   rebs   asts   stls
   10    18      5     0

or if you meant as a team:

Code:
              pts   rebs   asts   stls   blks
b. wallace     8     18     6      0      4
r. hamilton   23      9     8      2      0
c. billups    14      4     6      2      0
t. prince     10     10     5      1      2

etc.

I was losing with the Magic to the Pistons 62-38. The game was tight to begin with then the opened a lead and kept opening. Didn't feel real at all but that's just me I guess.

The game I played last night with the All Star settings was muuuuuuuuch better. I lost 88-87 and it was full of runs, not huge runs but runs. Veeeeeery realistic, to me.

i lost to the spurs with the knicks
152-137
in which sliders you play?

Sat Nov 22, 2003 9:07 pm

i noticed that when you put your controller on the CPU team to change something in their playbook and then put it back to your team, the cpu follows the human slider????

this happened to me 3 times...i noticed it on my second game... and on the third game i put the long rage % of the CPU to 19 put they were still hitting 3 better than i was...

Anyone notice this??

try saving a dynasty or probably a roster.... :D

"How do you all think about the # of FG attempts by each team, is that about right...as well as steals, blocks and turnovers? I think those look pretty nice (especially compared to last year...)"

it looked great, it's the NBA average, only things that weren't as realistic were the fouls and 3 point % of toronto, but like you said, that can be fixed with the sliders. Looks nice so far.

Sun Nov 23, 2003 8:17 am

offensive rebounds are just too hard to get i even tried putting defensive boards to 1 and offensive to 100 and nothing i played against the comp and then i had them play each other but still only like 4 per team in 12min quarters.....its just the animations after shooting and the fact that offensive players dont fight for position on the glass and that u cant tip the ball after missing cause ur guy starts doing something else or gets stuck

Second game report. I was the Clips hosting Utah. Again 12-mins, All-Star, didn't change any of the sliders yet, and used set plays for each team instead of dynamic.

Code:
Entire Game         Utah             LA Clippers

Points              73               87
Bench Scoring       20               26

Elton Brand: 17 pts 7/16 shooting in 31 mins[/code]

Sun Nov 23, 2003 9:34 am

those stats look mad accurate, just one thing, not enough fouls which leads to too few free throws, but the rest was great. How did ya get the bench scoring so accurate this time ?

Sun Nov 23, 2003 9:39 am

I didn't change anything. Here's the minutes for each player though:

UTAH Starters:
Harpring - 43
Stevenson - 35
Jackson - 29
Clark - 33
Kirilenko - 35

Bench:
Williams - 20
Bell - 17
Borchardt - 8
Ostertag - 4
Collins - 21
Arroyo - DNP
Lopez - DNP

LAC Starters:
Brand - 31
Jaric - 34
Maggette - 39
Richardson - 32
Ely - 30 (injured at one point)

Bench:
House - 10
Dooling - 15
Fowlkes - 17
Wilcox - 18
Kaman - 10
Drobnjak - 10
ZhiZhi - DNP

Sun Nov 23, 2003 12:09 pm

Looks like I'll need to adjust long range % and the foul sliders. Again, thanks for keeping me updated with the results. (Y)

Sun Nov 23, 2003 12:18 pm

I have my user shot blocking really low, 15. I get way too many blocks if it's higher.

Sun Nov 23, 2003 6:40 pm

is there a way to adjust the sliders without being in game? If so what file will i have to edit and what program will i have to use. (if not notepad)

Sun Nov 23, 2003 10:11 pm

Out of all the sliders, fouls seem to be the hardest to tweak.. I find putting in air collision fouls on 100 is perfect, reachin on 60, shooting on 30, gives decent results.

Mon Nov 24, 2003 1:31 am

jackson isn't on utah nemore arroyo is starting and his rating doesn't match his current performance

Mon Nov 24, 2003 3:14 am

I have tried another game with Andrews sliders. Changed nothing. Played New Orleans vs. Portland. At halftime score was 70 - 45 for the Trailblazers ... 12 Minute quarters. So I quit and started another one.

NO vs. Denver. 10 minute quarter. All-Star. Gamespeed reduced to 45. Nothing else changed.

Code:
Entire Game         New Orleans      Denver

Points              94               84
Bench Scoring       20               23
Field Goals         39/97            39/96
Field Goal %        .402             .406
3 Point FG          4/30             5/28
3 Point %           .133             .179
Free Throws         12/18            1/1
Free Throw %        .667             1.000
Rebounds            49               58
Off. Rebounds       4                4
Def. Rebounds       45               54
Blocks              6                6
Steals              11               1
Assists             15               26
Turnovers           12               18
Fouls               10               13

I had to go to overtime, cause after regulation it was tied at 79. It was quite a good game and the stats seem realistic. I will try to play it at 12 minutes, and maybe with another opponent.

what i don't get is why you shoot so many 3's. i know why the cpu shoots so many because they are retarded but why you?

Cant really explain it ... I just love to sink them from beyond the arc. And with some accomplished 3pt shooters on the roster it seems to be the best way. Although you are right, I should shoot less of them and try to make easy buckets.

Mon Nov 24, 2003 8:07 am

Wow that's a big win on SuperStar.

You only got called for 2 fouls.

I think these sliders def. need tweaking for SuperStar mode, from the looks of those results.

All-Star might be better suited for these sliders, just a few tweaks and they could be perfect.

My own sliders

Mon Nov 24, 2003 8:58 am

I played a game with the Rockets vs. Nets @ new jersey and I lost big time. I was able to hang in there for the first half cuz I was able to get to the line, but my 3rd Q bad shooting took me out of the game. I missed 14 shots in a row. J-Kidd really punished me (35 points/9dimes) getting to the basket and drawing a contact. He was 9/12 from the line.
My best player was my own greated shooting guard Johnny Blaze with 29 points. I think I lost cuz I didnt dump the ball inside to Yao or Griffin, but there were a tough matchup on the low post against ZO and K-Mart

Here's the stats for the game
Code:
Entire Game         Houston          New Jersey

Points              72               93
Bench Scoring       20               9
Field Goals         24/77            37/74
Field Goal %        .312             .500
3 Point FG          0/15             3/13
3 Point %           .000             .231
Free Throws         24/30            16/25
Free Throw %        .800             .640
Rebounds            38               53
Off. Rebounds       5                6
Def. Rebounds       33               47
Blocks              7                1
Steals              6                3
Assists             15               14
Turnovers           9                10
Fouls               18               21

as you see I also strugled from behind the 3pt line.

and the sliders I use:
Code:

Global Sliders

Game Speed - 60
Ft difficulty - 50
Force Field - 80
Injury frequency - 50
Fatique   - 50
Charge/Block foul - 30
Shooting foul - 60

In air collision foul - 70

User/CPU Sliders

Long range shooting - 38

Layup %   - 50
User adjusted shot % - 40

I'm still tweakin up my settings, but I'm pretty close to where I wanna be.

Allstar level and 10min quarters

Any feedback?

Mon Nov 24, 2003 9:08 am

And another one with Andrews sliders. All-Star. 12 Minute quarters. Gamespeed reduced to 42. NO (me of course) vs. Indiana. I have toned down the 3pt attempts a bit ...

Code:
Entire Game         New Orleans      Indiana

Points              121              114
Bench Scoring       58               14
Field Goals         47/109           44/109
Field Goal %        .431             .404
3 Point FG          10/24            11/46
3 Point %           .417             .239
Free Throws         17/25            15/20
Free Throw %        .680             .750
Rebounds            55               64
Off. Rebounds       3                7
Def. Rebounds       52               57
Blocks              10               1
Steals              13               1
Assists             27               23
Turnovers           14               17
Fouls               18               15

The score is a bit too high for my taste, so either the sliders have to be tweaked a bit more or I have to play harder defense :D. Or I just have to go down to 10 minute quarters.

Since this thread is so active, and this issue is a big part of me helping to test sliders, I'm just posting it here.

I'm having a problem with my controller. It's a Nyko AirFlo PC with dual analog. Now, sometimes during a game, the left analog stick gets messed up and for some reason my player will be stuck moving to the left, or down...and I can't do anything about it.

So, then I quit out, and basically unplug my controller, restart the computer, plug it back in, and it will work again.

Then a few days later, it'll happen again.

Just happened right now (luckilly only a minute in) while trying to test the sliders again. Very annoying! I don't know if I should just bring it back as defective, or if there's a reason why this is happening....

Thanks for any information you guys have...I need it! I spent $25 on this, and I don't want to go back to the Gravis Gamepad Pro.

A note: I've been using this controller with NHL 2004 and had no such problems, in fact it's a perfect controller for that game, because my hands get sweaty with all the button mashing gotta love the air flow.

Mon Nov 24, 2003 10:30 am

JohnnyBlaze410, how did you get the sliders in a .txt style thing. Is there a place where sliders are saved as a .txt file or something. Please help because tab-alting and taking screenshots are time-consuming, and I forget once I'm in the game.
