Here's another weird bug:

The opposing player was called for a charge. So my player was about to inbound the ball but then my imbounder was called for a foul and next thing that happens is that the opposing team is now inbounding the ball.

I can confirm that. I think that has happened in conjunction with my charge/basket counts problems, it's just it flashed by so fast and so many bugs happened at once, I couldn't tell.

To me what happens is when the opposing team suffers an offensive foul...you cut to your inbound then a whistle automatically sounds saying an inbound turnover then now the opposing team is the one inbounding.

The annoying thing is that it only happens when the computer does the offensive foul.

When the opponent comitted an offensive foul while he is laying up, the ball falls in, and the basket is counted.....

I get this window with the title "Cannot locate the CD-ROM - Please eject and re-insert the CD-ROM, select OK and restart application" when I try to start the game. It keeps happening and I usually have to restart the computer to play the game. For $40 I would like to play the game when I want

Don't know if this is really a bug but I've noticed when you play the game the team logo on the side of the player's shorts appears twice. What I mean is I will see two logos on the same side of the shorts. For example, for a Sonic jersey I will see the S on the side and also a smaller S above it. But when I check the instant replay the extra S disappears.

After the player at the free-throw line hits the second, Marv Albert says, "Penetrates inside..." or some kind play-by-play commentary even though the other team is only inbounding the ball.

When I get fouled, I shoot one free throw, then imbounded the ball instead of taking the second shot.

I was beginning playoffs with the 3rd seeded Denver, so the first game (1st seeded San Antonio against the Lakers) was already simulated. I checked the result : LA beats SA 28-20 (I'm playing 3min quarters and 3min simulated quarters)

Everything looks okay there, but when I went to San Antonio player's stats, I saw that Duncan scored 11ppg, Nesterovic 11, Ginobili 8, Mercer 8... The total of players point was 58 !!!

In simulated stats, Players points doesn't fit teams points !!!! That problem doesn't occur in Live 2000, I feel really disappointed, it wastes some part of the game (all the more as franchise mode could have really been better)

Live 2004 has a TRUE problem with stats, not only the players stats doesn't show for which team the guy played, but I discovered another disgusting bug :

Once I finished my first season in dynasty mode (I won the championship with Denver), I started the following one.

Then I wanted to look at Carmelo previous stats : damn, his stats were fake ! That was obvious cause it was mentionned he played 82 games but I only play 28 season games

If they remove features like this every year, Live 2010 will look like a 3D texturized version of Pong

Did EA respect us by acting so ? I don't think.

It is also really frustrating if you steal the ball at halfcourt, and you are all alone in front of the basket, no player of your team comes to help you to finish the fastbreak, and if a player runs with you, he stops at the threepointline, instead of running further to the basket, so you can't make an alley-oop!

Here are a couple of bugs which havent been mentinoned i dont think...

If the computer player is driving to the hole, and i take the charge, but the ball still goes in, the points count. Now i know in the rulebook it says the points will count if the charge foul comes AFTER the shot goes in the bucket, but it doesnt happen that way. It's really frustrating when i do a good job of drawing a charge, but they still get credit for the points...

And another one.. When i'm playing defense and i tip the ball out of bounds with one of my players, he will get a turnover credited on his stat sheet because of the tip. Now normally you have to have possession to be granted a turnover, but not in this case. I could be playing good defense and tip the ball out of bounds (still opponents ball), but i'll be rewarded with a TURNOVER!

I'm fed up with the tipslam-bug too, because everytime I go for a rebound with a point forward, small forward, shooting guard or a point guard, who can dunk, they jump and try to make a tipdunk.....Espacially if you play 1on1, it is very annoying, because it takes the one who tries a tipdunk very long to go back to the defense........

When a player is shooting, and he draws and defensive foul , and immediately he's shot was blocked (rejected by the player who fouled him), the game would give the same player a foul and a block shot.

Is that the real rule in NBA?

Oh my gosh! 2 pages full of complaints and bugs. Bugs or not I don't care anymore. I was going to buy Live 04 today but after reading all these I have changed my mind. I dont feel like dealing with all this problems. Nba Live was so close to perfection, why couldnt they go from there?

If I was the EA chairman, I would never release a game in such condition. If I were you guys I would just stopy buying the Live series until they can come up with the real thing. I only own Live 2000 and 2003. I didnt get 2001,2002,2004 because the complains and bugs were huge. I have better things to invest my money on.

I can't save anything anymore! Dr.P apparently had the same problem.

I'm in the middle of a Dynasty and all of a sudden, when attempting to save anything (roster, dynasty, playoffs) i get the error that there is insufficient space. I have over 100GB free!

what the heck is up? i'd like to continue my season!

For those complaining about the customart 1 problem I made a tutorial on how to use VIVMAGIC which allows you to import your patches into the xplayer.viv file. There is a download for it also on my site. Just in case you didn't notice it here is the link

i tried accessing your link from your post and it gives me a 'you are not autorized' type of screen. i'm having problems with nba live 2004 pc crashing to the desktop after 2-4 minutes while i'm editing players. i have the custom art set to 1. i installed the game, then installed the patch, then installed all of the ncaa stuff. i thought that might be the problem, so i re-installed the patch. same problem. how can i use your patch? i also have ea graphics editor. as some other posts suggest, how can i import the ncaa patches into the game with your patch, right into the playerdata.viv or xplayer.viv files, or with ed graphics editor? should i uninstall the game and re-install it before i import these files? if i need to uninstall the game and reinstall it, should i do ea's patch before i install the ncaa patches or after? i also tried sending you an e-mail - that didn't work either.

Its not a good idea to turn on customart to 1. For one its slow as hell, also, you may get a few of the random crashes you've mentioned. Just import the files directly into the .viv. its easier, cleaner, more stable and less hard disc space. just a suggestion

what .viv file do you import these patches to? there are quite a few - what is the path?
