It is his wristbone...and look at his hand...it's Marbury's hand, with his thumb and his claw grip...Carter's fingers are far too long...
but what i dont get is that if marbury did game for acclaim sports than he cant be on cover here

Marbury is under contract with Acclaim AND Vince just appeared in Microsofts Inside Drive 1 year ago

If the contracts are no longer intact (which they doubtfully are) they can be on whatever cover they want. I suspect neither is intact any longer. Especially since Microsoft dumped Vince for Paul Pierce.

More non-fans might know Carter, but he's had a horrid two years, whereas Marbury has established himself as the best point guard in the league.

If only super-popular players were used, then why were Mitch Richmond, Tim Hardaway and Antoine Walker on covers when they weren't household names?

The key is the hand, there are many photos with Marbury with his hand in that claw-grip of his. I don't see Vince doing that.

Maybe it's Marbury with a bad ear day. But I think it's Manute Bol hands down.

Even though I'm one of the biggest Raptor fans around, I still don't see why they would put VC on the cover of NBA Live 2004. It would have made sense if he was on the cover of Live 2001 or 20002 cause he was healthy and putting up huge numbers at those points of his career and was the most popular player in the league. I think it'll be anyone but VC, that just doesn't make sense.

It's a 90% chance that's Vince. I mean, it looks exactly like him (just check out the ears and the left armband). The wristband on the blank coverguy doesn't exactly mean it's a wristband, it might be just the wrist.

But let's take a look at some pictures of MJ. He has pointy ears also.

After studying ALOT of pictures, I've come to a conclusion that the person is Stephon Marbury, when ReFuze brought up MJ, I just had to find out who it was. I think it's Marbury, it isnt VC nor MJ. (Y)

its vince guys... him or marbury its def some1 bald......... cause last year the person was bald and it was kidd.... so im tellin yalll....... its vince or marbury.... but from the pics wit the wrist bands... i thknk its vince

i'd throw in jamison too...he's not a superstar but he's an upcomer and EA does have a past of not ALWAYS using the most popular player..Antoine Walker? Mitch Rich? c'mon

no way itz gonna be Michael he already retired..therefore he couldn't be on the front cover...

Sat Aug 02, 2003 8:54 pm

It is Vince but it may be MJ and if you wonder what shirt he wears then it would be the one Miami Heat retired... :? but it's Vince (He's gonna come back next season to play like he used to....and A.I will be 30ppg scorer too)

Sat Aug 02, 2003 9:18 pm

the head does look like vince... but raptors have narrow-shoulder jerseys, and vince's hand is huge, not like that one on the pic...

all indications point to stephon...

and no way it's jordan, the guy retired...

There is nothing wrong with EA paying tribute to MJ by putting him on the cover with the Miami retired jersey

so he wore the armband on the left arm....it's MARBURY!!! wooohooooooooooooo....he played hard last season....(y) and by the way,no need to thank me

Sun Aug 03, 2003 1:34 am

i hope it is marbury cause he definitely deserves it and those armband pics prove he is probably the one :P

Sun Aug 03, 2003 1:36 am

Look at the blank picture of the coverguy, he looks exactly like Vince. It even has his stance and everything.

congrats Columbo, but...
... i already, 2 days before you wrote:he's worn it on his left arm during the latter part of last season, and in the playoffs...

things in favor for marbury: bald head, headshape, jersey shape (shoulder width matches phoenix unis), elbowband.
things not in favor: wristband, though he may have worn it, a lot of players have gone with the trend... or, he may just have bulky wristbones...

but they already did that with live2000, if i remember correctly... and to me it would be pointless for EA to "pay tribute" to him, as if he hasn't had enough this last season... putting MJ on it would just be corny... to advertise a game he isn't even actively playing in...

Sun Aug 03, 2003 3:30 am

Yeah, can be Vince

-->kobe has a band in his left arm too...(look my signature)
but, by his contract.... :(

Sun Aug 03, 2003 4:10 am

I think its marbury, just cuz i have never seen a player be on a cover of 2 different games within 3 years. If it has happened sorry about my stupididty.

can't see pic, it not showing up

Sun Aug 03, 2003 4:59 am

its not kobe... npr mj... its Starbury. after the season he had.. its def him

Sun Aug 03, 2003 8:34 am

It cant be Marbury, because he has a band on his right elbow not his left. Im pretty sure its Chris Webber, looks excact like him imo, and sometimes he also has a band just under his right elbow

well i didnt read the entire topic...sorry about it.

Sun Aug 03, 2003 9:47 am

I think is Marbury. If you look to the left arm in the last picture that Martin posted, you can see those big bones in his wrist, and the band is in the left arm.

Tim Duncan was on the cover of Live 2000. MJ was just in the corner saying that he is in NBA Live. MJ has never been on a video game cover.

YOU ALL MAY BE FOOLED INVESTIGATORS

Sun Aug 03, 2003 3:25 pm

THAT SHADOW MAY NOT EVEN BE THE SHADOW OF THE COVER MAN.
I PERSONALLY THINK IT'S GOING TO BE KING LEBRON JAMES!
WH :!: Y NOT LOOK AT ALL THE MEDIA FOCUS HE'S GETTING.
GOOD MARKETING SAYS IT'S LEBRON JAMES.
ROOKIE OR NOT HE'S PROVING HE'S THE REAL DEAL WITH HIS SUMMER LEAGUE PLAY AND HE'S NOT PLAYING HARD LIKE HE WANTS TO AVOID INJURIES.
STOP GETTING CAUGHT UP IN WHO YOU LIKE AND LOOK AT IT WITH A BUSINESS MIND.
EA IS GIVING US SOME NEW THINGS...WHY NOT A PHENOM ON THE COVER !
