So you couldn't tell us if we could use the same shoes for 2003 in 2004 huh? :?:

I like how the quarter breaks don't take you to a white screen where you feel totally removed from the game, but stay in the arena, similar to Live 99. I didn't buy Live 2003 so I don't know if they did this in that version, I think they did, but I wasn't about to pay money for that game to find out.
From the gamershell previews, the court looks tighter and more compact, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I think real basketball courts are like that; from the Live 2003 screenshots the court seemed too big.

Image Pics from gamershell

I know this isn't the perfect comparison, but notice how the 2004 court seems more compact, whereas the 2003 court seems huge. I know the zoom level of these two pictures probably differ, so you might think that that is why the 2003 court looks bigger, but the overall size of the court would become smaller in porportion to the players if you zoom out.
The fact is that the court for 2003 might have been a bit too big, I think I will prefer the more compact 2004 court because it might be closer to reality.
But on second thought, maybe the camera angle is different, not necessarily the court. Either way, hopefully we will find out for ourselves this week.

I'm glad that the court is smaller this year. (Y) very glad. (Y) It definetly gives it a more realisitic feel, and makes the tall players seem tall too.

Very happy.

Thanks a lot for the shots! It's indeed very MUCH appreciated ! :)

Am I the only one who'd love to see just one single ingame screenshot at full details ? (With antialiasing and everything turned on).

Have to say that even people with slower pc's will really enjoy this game....even the arena's look quite nice looking at the old pics.

Thanks VERY much again ! I really cannot wait anymore, hehehe :)

Thanx for the screenies and the ratings.

I think that there were some major fuckups ratings tough.
How do hell Can they rank Hamiltons FG ratings to 72 and Mobleys ratings to 78!? Mobley did like 18points in 40minuts last season and Hamilton did like 20p in 30minuts.

And again they rank Derek Fisher FG rating way to high, he got higher than Kobe which I by the way think also have to low FG rating.
Kobe should had just a little less than Shaq.

Finley is stupid ranked 82 and should instead be ranked at highest 72.
Marion is to low ranked, he is on of the top 3s smallforward! he should switch his overal ranking with Franchise.
Gilbert Arenas and Allan Houston are too low ranked.
Eddy Currys FG rating is a Joke!
Zach Randolph FG rating and Overal rating is evan a more joke.
And since when did like every fucking guard scored more points than T-Mac!?! Sure he hasen't play to well this season, but still!
That's it and I haven't looked at the half of the players ratings!

I think that the 2003 got much better standard ratings to the players.
It's pretty difficult to compare with the new ranking systom 0-100 since we are use to 50-100.

Maybe I will do a rosterupdate with correct ratings, since these pretty much sucks.

Tue Nov 11, 2003 6:03 am

^you could change the ratings by yourself so stop complaning

Tue Nov 11, 2003 6:56 am

Yeah I know einstein, but I'm just giving my opion that it sucks, that the rating sucks. Its not hard work to include decent ratings, what am I asking for!

Tue Nov 11, 2003 7:04 am

so you expect EA to give each player the most realistic rating avaible... that could be hard, for doing something like that takes a lot of time and only one person can make it. and that person must thing exacly like you () in order for you to not consider it sucky. that person alos has to be completely into the NBA and every player.
the odds are that EA used many diferent people to put the players stat, and therefor some players may have a little more/less in some aspects....

think about it; every stat and rating there is for every player, and then you start complaning about some FG's are to high...

Tue Nov 11, 2003 7:17 am

Not to fuel the fire but Mobley has a better career fg% than Hamilton and Kobe, but Fish is still only a .431 fg%

Tue Nov 11, 2003 9:17 am

hmmm.......since when did ppg dictate how good a shooter u are

allan houston is low b/c he is one dimensional just look at hi stats ull see all he can do i score but his fg should be higher

i agree about gilbert, marion, randolph and curry but s'all good everyone thinks of players differently than others like the whole tmac vs kobe thing but one thing people bare too much on stats is fg% some guys that have high % arent neccesarily better shooters just better shot selecters or might slash more as opposed to a guy that takes more jumpers

and lastly i dont think finley's rating should go down b/c he is stupid it might not be his fault he isnt smart

Tue Nov 11, 2003 9:59 am

These screens are like crack, I just want more and more and more... I'm an addict and I'm in remission right now need wednesday to come.

Wed Nov 12, 2003 11:11 am

I wish they would reveal the formula for overall rating because I don't understand it anymore.....it used to be based on position. So if you had a PF/C that couldn't rebound he had low ratings compared to a guard who had low ratings it didn't affect his overall.

Looking through the ratings(BTW thank you for posting) I think they are solid, every year they have players who you don't know how good they will be. Amare Stoudamire was a rookie who most people thought would be a project......nope best damn PF I have seen in a long time.
