once again despite u guys saying i was wrong, espn basketball beats nba live. I love it. Click above to read the review. Not only did the graphics get a 10.0(which is perfect)it's also at 720p hdtv which for me who has a 55" hdtv is gonna be incredible!
sorry guys, maybe next year

You're not wrong, and you're not right either. Finding someone who agrees with you does not make you correct. Sorry my friend, but there's no way you can prove that your opinion is an actual fact.
For the Live vs ESPN comparison, I couldn't care less what the X-Box versions are rated. Can you please tell me the rating of ESPN Basketball on the PC? Oh that's right, there is no PC verison. All some of us care about is how the PC games are.

if you want to buy a dirty video game, choose ESPN basketball
if not choose Live 2004
when you look at video or screen shots, there is no way, NBA live is better, look better,
2k4 look dirty, when i look the screen shot, i think that this game is not finish yet! cause players are ugly
-the red look pink in espn!
-all the players wear "DUNK" sneaker? No? but when you look at their basketball's sneaker, there are very close to shaq'shoes, like every player wear 20 or more in shoe's size
-all player except allen iverson have alien's face

i WAS a live fan once upon a time (feel like 100 years)
i still like live 95 and live 2000 personally
but since live 2001, it's not LIVE anymore, it should be called ea nba arcade 2001/2003/2004 instead
i always have high hopes on upcoming live release, but ea always let me down, year by year.... >_<
live 2004 is a bit better than live 2003...
live 2005? yes, they should redo the whole game engine, i just don't like the mechanics on live 2004

i don't think 2001 is arcadish ~~
and the only arcadish in 2003 is the "BLOCKING"

i own both for ps2.
Live is a way better product as far as audio, graphics, and presentation are concerned.
One thing EASports has always excelled at is front-end presentation. The Live audio team is one of the best in the industry. And Live 2004 just oozes quality.
There is no comparison between the audio in ESPN, and the audio in Live.
Tom Tolbert? gimme a break. Not even the same ballpark as the Czar.
Next year, ESPN should get Bill Walton. I know lots of people hate Walton, but i absolutely love his commentating. so funny. THROW IT DOWN BIG MAN, THROW IT DOWN! he adds personality to the broadcasts for sure.
but ya... like i said. audio in ESPN is pretty budget. Even the shoe squeaks sounds lame.
I like Live better as an overall product.
As far as an NBA basketball experience goes? ...keep in mind, i haven't had the games for very long... but right now, i'd have to lean towards ESPN. Only for the fact that the ai in Live just annoys the hell out of me. I'm still playing with the Live sliders, but on everything default, there's no denying that ESPN more accurately represents NBA basketball. That being said... NBA Live 2004 is the better product overall. I just wish the court was bigger, the shooting % weren't so high, the CPU wasn't so cheap, and pro-hop wasn't so easy to pull off.

The LAST thing we need are ESPN trolls.
Please lock/delete this garbage...it's just a flame...

Who cares! You should be more worried about being your own man............. not a follower.
I will play both, and then form my own Opionion. If ESPN is better, so be it!

and the only arcadish in 2003 is the "BLOCKING"
From what i've played of ESPN, i've blocked 3 shot attempts (not dunks), and they all made a BOOM sound and they went into the crowd like a missle. Not only that, but there was like a line trailing the ball to make it look like an actual missle! I just looked in disbelief... if you think live 2003 had bad blocking, just play ESPN.

In ESPN 2K4
Can you play custom players in a NBA season?
Does it have custom team?

heh, i noticed that too. and the fouls are pretty lame in ESPN too. Every foul is a crushing blow that sends your oponent hard to the floor. The type of foul that would get you kicked out of the game.
And what's with Tom Tolberts commentating? terrible. It sounds like he's trying to be quiet when he talks... like he doesn't want to wake anyone up or something. Terrible. terrible. terrible.
I'm not satisfied with either Live or ESPN. i guess no bball games for me this year.

Mabe nba inside drive 2004, nba street vol. 2 or the new nba jam game would suit you best.
