As the games keep getting bigger (and better

) they take up more space. Madden and FIFA already come on 2 CD's and it is confirmed that the NHL series is coming out on 2 CD's for PC this fall. EA has reached the point where each year they must remove features/graphics in order to add new features and still make the game fit on one CD. One year the game will have no player arm bands but hi res cyberfaces...the next year the game has player arm bands but low res cyberfaces etc...
The 2 CD's are only required for game installation...once the game is installed you run the game off one CD as we've always done in the past. Using 2 CD's would allow EA to include hi res graphics and more of them...high res faces, shoes, custom arenas etc.
I'd say there is 0% chance the game will come on a DVD...
I've been wrong before

...I was certain that the game would come out on 2 CD's last year when I saw all the previews with the player specific arm bands, hardwood classics jerseys etc...since I was pretty sure there was no way all that new stuff could fit on one CD along with all the existing stuff. I was very suprised when EA downgraded all the hi res graphics to make space on the CD...
If EA doesn't use 2 CD's then the question becomes...I wonder what they are going to cut out this year? As I prefer to be optimistic about the arrival of each version of Live...I will continue to assume the game is coming on 2 CD's...
