Not everything in real life depends on player ratings and that's why computer games differ from reality. Teams that have a lot of firepower (see Suns with 3 or 4 future hall-of-famers) sometimes underperform, while teams with less talent do the opposite.
But in general I agree with you - Cavaliers rating shoud be a bit higher (their success was partly a surprise to me)

thanks sir, i agree, it's hard to see much realism in a game of numbers (and formulas), (Orlando is currently 4-23 on my game ) uhm, just one thing sir, cp3 and other's averages rougly 8 apg on 12min per quarter games, will the next update feature a double-double average from deron and cp3?

Yeah, simulated stats are really pain in ass, because guys with 99 in assists wouldn't average more than maybe 9 apg Similar with rebounds - LeBron and Bryant sometimes averages almost 10 rpg...
Basically it is not connected with ratings but with simengine.dbf (or something like that in database folder), which I don't have a clue how to edit

then create a folder named "a" in my documents/nba live 2004/saves and put save.dat and players.dbf into that
and in game i'm loading roster file "a"

am i missing something?

you have to put players.dbf and save.dat in docs/live2004/saves/ YOUR CHOSEN SAVE FOLDER (for example 000 or 001 or 002) If you do not have it, go to game and just save random rosters and they will appear as 000

Hi, if you want to average more than 10 apg, edit the simengine.dbf in the assist column, put there values over 0,48 in line of the 90's ratings. However, you must to modify the rating for passing to some players. So far for me, the game works great and Nash, Deron and Paul average over 10apg. If you wish give me your email and i send you my simengine.dbf file.

any way davis28, is there a way to manipulate a certain player's 'potential'? cause lebron's stat keeps on declining every season (damn that happens on my 03 too) which is quite unrealistic, and it only happens on lbj, and not on my dwade, or others from 03.

it depends on his CAREERPKG value, however, Bron has A in there which means that he has EXCELLENT chances of improving

Sorry guys but I just could not relate ,I really love playing nba live 04 series...is there a certain site who could teach novice players like me?,I mean on how to use these downloadable items that you are uploading...ty..

When you download the item, read the readme.txt he gave.

Just go into the game, save ANY roster under a new file. Then exit, go to My Documents/Live/Saves/The folder you saved according to date created if you have multiple. Drag the players.dbf and I think save.dat file from the download to there.

And the readme.txt should tell you what to do with the other files.
