Have you any advices ?
Fri Dec 26, 2003 1:52 am
ur result is so crazy! how can u score over 110 in 8mins Q and dish out over 30 asists

? .this is not very realistic. for my result, i just score about 90-110 in 10mins Q

. i use Andrew slider, i change the shooting range for user and cpu and decrease dunk/lay up %. that can get more realistic game result

.

Now i'am trying to improve game difficulty and realistics.
If i can do it, i will post my sliders
Tue Dec 30, 2003 12:21 am
what sliders is everyone using...the most realistic..i just bought the game and the mods are off the hook..can't wait to play a dynasty with new graphics..
are andrews better than anyones whrn representing real life nba...
where can i get them..thanks guys..

I get pretty realistic results with my sliders, but everyone's skill level and style of play is different. What works for one person may not work for another.
I feel that my sliders are pretty accurate, and at the very least should provide you with a good base for making your own tweaks. I know some people who have had moderate success using my sliders have been able to make further adjustments to suit their needs and preferences.

I checked all suggested sliders here and I wonder why everybody has so high % in the sliders? I find my percentage extremely high if I play with such kind of sliders (and thus my scoring is also too high).
So, I lowered dunk, layup and short range shots a lot. Since it's still too easy to win, I've made AIs sliders still low but not as low as mine. These sliders provide some challenge, but still I won 29 out of 30 games, with the average scoring difference of 8 points. The score is still a bit high, but when I play very discipline basketball, I can hold my opponents under 90 points.
Here are my sliders. I play at 12 min qtr, superstar.

Phil Jackson (and I, too) can't believe it: the number one Los Angeles Lakers are beaten by the Charlotte Bobcats!
Some stats: J. McCoy 10 dr; L. Ellis 32 pts 1 or 4 dr and W. Williams 16 pts (6-10 fg 4-4 ft). Kobe had 30 pts!
The Bobcats now have 7-34 overall.
I think I'm ready to start a season with (my team since 1985) the CAVS.

I've tried Ben's sliders and Andrew's sliders too, I was not happy, then I started tweaking each and every aspect of the game I wasn't happy with and finally, after giving it a lot of work I've reached the following sliders, which added with the players edition that you can find in another forum (try them and suddenly LeBron can shoot and pass the rock, Andersen becomes the blocking machine he actually is and Melo becomes really good. Besides that you'll find in deatil how to create many rookies that are not in the game and get your rosters complete and updated) turns the game into a real simulation of an NBA match and the players statistics get very real too. Some guy started tweaking the primacy and some other stuff and now the teams relly go for their best player in the offensive end.
Hope you enjoy them, cos' I actually am. Any question or suggestion mail me.
Global Sliders:
Game Speed: 50
Free Throw Difficulty: at will (I place it at 100 and still have over 90% in my team FT%. But I was always too god damn good at FTs in all previous NBA Live)
Boundary Force Field: 70
Injury Freq: 40
Fatigue Effect: 50
Charge/Block Freq: 20 (no more cos the CPU tends to commit excessive offensive fouls)
Shooting Foul Freq: 50
Reach-In Foul Freq: 50
In-Air Collision Foul Freq: 90 (This way I am shooting between 17 and 24 FT per game and so is the CPU)
User: (the same for CPU, read the whole thing and you'll find out why)
Steal Ability: 40 (I steal 2 to 3 balls per game with Payton, which is OK)
Interception Ability: 48 (I found it too easy to pass the ball if placed at 45 and there were many unreal interceptions placed at 50, so 48 showed to be OK)
Shot Blocking: 20
Dunk/Layup Blocking: 30 (in a way to avoid those fu**ing double step penetrations)
User Freestyle: 50 (no need to place it at 40, I'd rather tweak the on ball psysical defense and it gets really harder to penetrate the defense)
Dunk vs Layup Freq: 30
Substitution: 0 for no auto subs, 50 for auto subs
On-Ball Assist: 50
Offensive Rebounds: 90
Defensive Rebounds: 50
Fake Out Discipline: 90 (yes, if you are trying to double team the center, for example, with your PG and your C and you control your PG to go for the steal, it's ok for the center you're not controlling to jump when the opposite center makes a fake if he's not a good defender)
Short Range %: 45
Medium Range %: 50
Long Range %: 45 (with these sliders on the shot range I get medium range baskets when open and my team and CPU's team FG% is usually between 40% and 50%)
Dunk %: 55
Layup %: 45
Adjusted Shot %: 25 (here's the key that equalizes the differences you find between the CPU shooting and the user shooting and that you were trying to solve by favouring the user sliders. I found out that the CPU tends to make a lot of baskets adjunsting shots, much more than I could ever do in a game. By taking this slider down, the CPU no longer makes so many of those crappy shots with the defender's hand on his face)
On-Ball Physical Defense: 60 (very real, and it seems to be the only thing that prevents O' Neal from posting down the basket in each fuc**ing play, it works a lot, looks very real, and helps preventing easy penetrations)
Poor Release %: 10 (I'd give the same reasons that I've given for Adjusted shot %, try this out)
Double Team: 50
CPU: (I found no CPU advantage so the user sliders and the CPU sliders are the same, and I think they should be that way in order to have a fair competition with the CPU's team)
Steal Ability: 40
Interception Ability: 48
Shot Blocking: 20
Dunk/Layup Blocking: 30
CPU Freestyle: 50
Dunk vs Layup Freq: 30
Substitution: 50
Offensive Rebounds: 90
Defensive Rebounds: 50
Fake Out Discipline: 90
Short Range %: 45
Medium Range %: 50
Long Range %: 45
Dunk %: 55
Layup %: 45
Adjusted Shot %: 25
Adjusted Shot Freq: 50
On-Ball Physical Defense: 60
Poor Release %: 10
Double Team: 50

hey guys, im playin on superstar but havin the problem that the CPU doesnt get any OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS and on the other hand i always get a few... In fact, i always get more rebounds than my opponent. that sucks. playing with andrews rosters.
i turned the sliders to
USER:
Off Rebounds 0
Def Rebounds 0
CPU:
Off Rebounds 100
Def Rebounds 100
Can u tell me if this is the best setting for a strong rebounding CPU? In my games i always get more rebounds than the CPU. Please help!
Sun Jan 04, 2004 11:40 am
I wouldn't suggest turning the User sliders down to 0 for rebounding. Try turning User Defensive Rebounding to 40, leaving CPU Offensive Rebounding at 100. Leave User Offensive Rebounding at 100 and CPU Defensive Rebounding at 50 (or turn it down to 40-45 if you find you can't get enough offensive boards).
Sun Jan 04, 2004 1:45 pm
Question: If I change the free throw difficulty in global sliders. Does it get harder for user and the computer, or just the user. Because I play on allstar where free throws are too easy for me, but I don't want the computer to be missing all theirs either.
Thanks

hey andrew....are your sliders the most realistic....any updates to your sliders

i think the ea really need to IMPROVE the gameplay!! i m difficult to find good sliders for realistic result. before i finished to play 10mins per Q, the result is Lakers beat the Rockets by 107-68. Francis has 20pts, 4rebs, 6asts, 2stls in 35mins but he just shoots 7/24 FG%. Yao has 16pts(8/21FG%), 13rebs, 1blk in 25mins. i hate the game still have many fast break and alley-oop by cpu

! i can't stop their fast break and alley-oop pass, can anyone tell me how to stop these crazy things

?

I get realistic results with my sliders, but everyone's skill level and playing style is different. I feel my sliders are fairly realistic, and at least give people a base to make further tweaks of their own.

nikosantos76 if you say that the adjusted shot is favouring the cpu, why to decrease the user adj. shot % and not just the cpu %. also i would find it more useful to decrease the adj. shot frequency as well. post some stats from your dynasty games and tell us level and minutes [/quote]
Thu Jan 15, 2004 1:28 am
Canigia, I found very unrealistic the number of adjusted and forced shots that one way or another simply fall in, increasing the teams FG% unnecesarily. By tweaking down both, CPU and Player Adjusted shots and poor release shots, I get just a few of them and so does the CPU.
I owe you some stats since I'm writing from my office and I don't have such information with me, but I can tell u that teams FG % is almost always between 40% and 55%. The forced layups rarely fall in, the number of dunks have decreased a lot, and the number of offensive rebounds have increased. As I previously said, depending on how good you are at defending and the pace of game you perform on the offensive line, you should choose between 8 or 9 or even 10 minutes per quearter on superstar level.
Good luck and the stats are coming soon.
Thu Jan 15, 2004 11:51 am
yeah ur ryt nicosantos....bt my only problem is that with every sliders i tried..the computer almost always tries a three-point shot.dang its very frustrating at times...ie 50 attempts for every game and 40-60 percent of it goes in...or maybe im not playing half-court defense
