Your ratings are greate work, fgrep15!

But I have a question to you.
Are the ratings based on andrew's update?

I'm playing the game with PS2 and updated the ratings from EA. Have I made a mistake? (two questions, sorry!)

Zendon Hamilton

Sun Jan 04, 2004 12:49 pm

Can you please create Zendon Hamilton of the 76ers? or tell me where I can find a creation of him.

Thanks

Montross is done, they just left his name on the roster but he's retired basically.

No the ratings are from the original rosters, well I dunno, I haven't checked out their update. I think it would work out better if you did it without their update though.

I had actually done Glover but forgot to post it.

No mistake from me, yip!

Thanks for the fast answer!

Dutch, did EA actually come out with a roster update besides October? Even so, prob. best to go with Fgreps. I don't think EA adds missing players with their updates, and I doubt they make any significant player rating changes.

Sun Jan 04, 2004 10:07 pm

Yea ea came out with one it was dec 12 i think all the missing players are there except for 1.

Sun Jan 04, 2004 10:44 pm

where can i locate this update

Zendon Hamilton

Mon Jan 05, 2004 12:26 am

Fregrep please help me out with Zendon Hamilton I would really appreciate it.

Thank you so much!

Mon Jan 05, 2004 1:12 am

you have ps2 shep. If so i can send you the sharkport version updated with all of Fgrep changes.

Mon Jan 05, 2004 8:37 am

Aikman08, I have only the player ratings from the game for the PS2 and these ratings updated with the ratings from fgrep15!

I can't download the update from Andrew. I think the reason is: I havn't the pc version from the game.

Today I'm playing with the Charlotte Bobcats but now I can start a season with (my team since 1985) the CAVS!

Another update to make. Suns trade Starbury and Penny to Knicks for McDice Ward and Eisley.

Tue Jan 06, 2004 6:17 am

I used your ratings and created all the players. Here's a list of who you're missing:

Dallas
Jon Stefansson

Denver
Mark Pope

LA Clippers
Olden Polynice

Portland
Matt Carroll
Kaniel Dickens

Sacremento
Jabari Smith (various requests, btw)

San Antonio
Alex Garcia

Toronto
Eric Montross (I'd like him just to put him on my IL)

Utah
Paul Grant
Ben Handlogten
Michael Ruffin

Washington
Mitchell Butler

I just ended up loading the EA December roster update. Then, copying down the ratings and info. for those missing players, then creating them in my current season. But, I'd still like to see Fgrep's tweaks on them. If EA wouldn't wait three months for a damn roster update, we wouldn't have to all wait. Anyway, if anyone wants the EA ratings for those missing players, I can post them, just let me know (if you don't have a network adapter).

Boy, you just a regular super hero. Keep 'em comin'.

Meanwhile: I'll try to figure out a way to make Toronto not as highly rated as you did. Raptors, Lakers, and Kings all have ratings of 94 on my game. Rick Fox is on the IL. I hardly think the Raptors players are as good as the Lakers or the Kings... I'm gonna blame this on the Donyell Marshall and Chris Bosh hype that's been going around as of late. BTW, you rated Bosh at 74. If this was Live 2003 you would've gave him an 87 according to the formula (Live 2004 Rating/2 + 50 = Live 2003 Rating). There's no way Bosh is that good. I can agree that Marshall has the potential to get the 74 rating you gave him, though. He just rarely shows it as best he could. I lowered his 3-point and FG ratings because he only had a few good shooting games and I don't think that's real reason to make him that good a shooter.

Wed Jan 07, 2004 6:29 am

Well the formula isn't exactly right b/c every rating that is under 50 won't be divided by 2 and have 50 added to them, they would just be 50. So a player right now with a 35 pass won't get a 68 pass rating but a 50 pass rating.

Bosh should be 71, he's only 70's b/c he has 3pt range, without that he'd be about a 67.

All his ratings: 73/48 70/75 65/65 75/46 70/73 20/55 52/63 39/80 61/69 70/56

Moiso: off reb - 67, def reb - 75, steal - 49

Rose: pass - 86, dribble - 84

Peterson: stamina - 68

The high rating is really all about Jalen Rose and Carter both being on the team...hmmm

Actually, until you said that I hadn't thought of it like this but they kinda remind me of the old Bulls. Y'know with Jalen being Scottie and Vincanity being Mike. If only they could use their powers for good rather than losing so damn much.

Yea I know it bothers me too........as for team ratings don't bother too much about them, a teams play doesn't always show the talent the team has, so not all teams ratings will reflect their real life performance. Most can just not all. Look at the Rockets, mine are 93 in the game, but they aren't playing like that in real life.

Barbosa

The problem is that 90% of the time in Franchise mode the computer selects the team with a higher rating to win a simmed game. Now this doesn't affect my team because I play all my games but it leaves the Raptors as the number 4 team in the league and that's entirely unrealistic. Matter of fact, almost no team in the East should be above the 80s in their rating. This would lead to more realistic records in Franchise mode. Ah, well, there will never be a great Franchise mode. If only it looked at individual player ratings and what a player can and can't do rather than giving an over-all rating. It could be like.

Defense: ??
Offense: ??
Etc.

Teams that have nothing but shooters have really high ratings and will win in a Franchise sim when the other team might have the best defense in the league.

I guess you can't help this and I've gone wildly off topic now. Anyway, are you going to do Utah guys? They really need it. I'm getting an 80 over-all rating (it was 79 before you made that last guy).
