Glad you like them. :) It's difficult to get sliders that work for everybody, no matter their skill level or style of play. Perhaps I could suggest some additional tweaks to be applied only if people are experiencing problems (such as too many offensive fouls, too few shooting fouls etc). That might be better than suggesting completely different sliders.

Techno - can you post your settings for the cpu v cpu games please? I must admit I like to watch a good number of games myself and as I've not got the pc version yet (should be Monday with a bit of luck - my first copy the second cd was damaged!!) they will be useful for me. Hope you can.

Cheers

played an exhibition game using andrew's sliders and some of my own tweaks...starter - 12 minute quarters:

Entire Game Dallas Chicago

Points 92 87
Bench Scoring 21 25
Field Goals 39/81 37/75
Field Goal % .481 .493
3 Point FG 3/9 4/20
3 Point % .333 .200
Free Throws 11/19 9/11
Free Throw % .579 .818
Rebounds 38 39
Off. Rebounds 6 2
Def. Rebounds 32 37
Blocks 6 3
Steals 12 2
Assists 13 15
Turnovers 13 18
Fouls 10 12

pretty nice game, had some troubles at first and actually trailed the entire game untill the 4th, which was my comeback and I sealed the victory in the last 25 seconds of the game. There are still a few things that need tweaking ( the PG kills me, and pro hop is virtually unstoppable ) but defense is the key to winning games ( talk about realism ) and this what I'll focus on.

anyhow, nice work to everyone tryna make this game as realistic as possible. Thanx.

I'm sorry they don't work for you. I am able to get realistic scores and stats with them, as have other people. Obviously there's still some work to be done.

nice sliders u got there.. save both for all star and superstar.. great work!

I've read this a few times, and I apologise if I'm taking it the wrong way...but...you are new to this community. If you're going to mock anyone who attempts to help out fellow Live gamers, be it through a patch, suggestions for sliding settings or just general gameplay hints...you're not going to be around for long.

Now, I'm sorry my sliders didn't work for you. But this community doesn't tolerate mocking of other people's efforts.

the cpu gets realistic scores in 12min quarters but how they play is horrible....and they don't always go to their best player

i did about 5 pc vs pc games and the scores were in the 80's and 90's but they just forced shots...partially ran their offense and most offensive boards were lucky ones where it jut bounced into a players hands, i turned crash boards on and box out off but they still didn't want to

I like Andrews sliders, I only changed a couple things around, heres some team stats.

Pacers 114 Blazers 84 (Zach and Anderson sat out)

Bench scoring Pacers 19, Blazers 3

Pacers 46/89 FG's, Blazers 33/82 FG's

FG % Pacers .517, Blazers .402

3 point FG Pacers 4/20, Blazers 3/16

3 point % Pacers .200, Blazers .188

FT's Pacers 18/21, Blazers 15/19

FT % Pacers .857, Blazers .789

Rebounds Pacers 51, Blazers 35

Off Rebounds Pacers 9, Blazers 4

Def Rebounds Pacers 42, Blazers 31

Blocks, Pacers 8, Blazers 2 (Going to put human block down probably to about 1 or 2, not sure about CPU though)

Steals Pacers 9, Blazers 0

Assists Pacers 26, Blazers 15

Turnovers Pacers 6, Blazers 13

Fouls Pacers 17, Blazers 17

Pacer player stats

Everyone on the Pacers got minutes except for J. Jones and everyone scored besides Jones and Foster.

Artest 27 points, 26 mins, 11 fgm, 16 fga, fg% 688, 1/5 3 pointers, 4/4 ft's, 10 def rebounds, 3 steals, 5 assists

O'Neal, 25 pts, 26 mins, 11 fgm, 19 fga, fg% 579, 1/1 3 pointers, 2/2 ft's, 1 off rebound, 8 def rebounds, 1 steal, 2 assists, 1 turnover

Miller, 18 points, 34 mins, 8 fgm, 23 fga, fg% 348, 1/6 3 pointers, 1/2 ft's, 1 off rebound, 1 def rebound, 2 blocks, 9 assists, 3 turnovers

Tinsley, 19 pts, 36 mins, 7fgm, 14fga, fg% 500, 1/3 3 pointers, 4/6 ft's, 1 off rebound, 2 def rebound, 1 block, 7 assists, 1 turnover

Blazers

Wallace, 26 points, 38 mins, 12fgm, 20 fga, fg% 600, 1/3 3 pointers, 1/3 ft's, 11 def rebounds, 2 blocks, 3 assists, 8 turnovers

Patterson, 17 points, 38 mins, 7fgm, 19fga, fg% 368, 3/3 ft's, 2 off rebounds, 1 def rebound, 4 assists

Person, 11 points, 33 mins, 4 ghm, 10 fga, fg% 400, 1/4 3 pointers, 2/2 ft's, 5 def rebounds, 3 assists

Game was great. As I've said both Derek Anderson and Zach Randolph were out. I took control early and went onto I believe a 12-0 rout, then they cut the lead during the late 1st and the score was 19-10.

Rasheed Wallace was contained by O'Neal for most of the game but he heated up at parts with fadeaways and started to bring O'Neal out with mid range jump shots and 3's, he really went off when O'Neal sat down.

Going to try another team and see who else to play on what else I might need to change, anyway..what do you guys think of the stats?

Here is my stat. I am the lakers vs. dallas. I am using Andrew sliders with some of my own sliders setting. All-star with 8 mins per Quarter. WOO. what a close game. Walker missed the last 2 free throws and 1.3 second to go to win this game.

I think 98 to 97 with 8 min quarters is quite highscoring and it is not the score we are trying to get by changing the sliders. I play with andrews sliders (slightly adjusted) and on superstar with 12 min quarters. I play the bulls and they are very highscoring and played against the mavericks, highscoring, too. the final score was 105:105 and I think that is really realistic. But I think when you have figured out how to play the computer the game is too easy anyway because you get way to much easy and open shots.

Game Speed

Postby Whiplash on Sat Dec 06, 2003 2:15 pm

I think that a good game speed is 20. But all the sliders i found here are highscorings. I play 12 min quarters, allstar and my last matchs i won about 120 or 130 with similar slides here comented.

Sorry by my bad english!!!!

PLEASE GIVE ME A REALISTIC SLIDES NOW!!!

THANKS!!!

I used Andrews sliders with some adjustments, and I found them to be great. Just before I was the Lakers playing Chicago and won, 90 to 89. Close game, might have to make subs higher since Kobe and Payton played the whole game, and Shaq had a back injury, but came back in later.

The on ball defense or whatever it's called, is hard to find a good setting to.

hmmm, i play with andrew's sliders on superstar 7 min qtr.
First of all, I ALWAYS WIN :(
ANd my scrore for example is 110-100, 120-95, 100-85 etc.
How all of you can score 95-98 playing 12 min qtrs ?
And is there way to improve difficulty ?
Even when i trail at halftime -15. i know, that in the end of 3rd or start 4rth qtr there will be a lot of steals by my PG and i will win +10 or so
ahhh, NBA Live 2001 - rulezzz ! ;)

Sorry for my English.

@ littlestas I don't see your problem, just turn down your stealing sliders

In order to get realistic results, you have to play like a NBA Team
Play half court offense, don't take many shots before the shotclock is below 15 sec. Use set play, use plays in general. That's the way I do get realistic scores. I score about 108 per game my opponent about 98. But my team is really highscoring, no good defenders at all, only great perimeter shooters.

My sliders work best with Superstar difficulty. On All-Star, most experienced players will find it's fairly easy to score.

it is even damn too easy to win on superstar difficulty with a team around 85. You just have to figure out how to exploit the AI and then you are almost invincible. Just a matter of time and experience. But I don't want to turn down my scoring-sliders, because when my players are wide open, then they should hit most of the open shots, but it's to easy to get open shots.
