I am not sure about the foreign gamers. I have recently seen the new NBA LIVE 2004 commercial, and at the end of the commercial, it has said Oct. 16.

This is a bit strange when the site states it as the 14th. If you think about this, 2 days isn't that big of a change, unless you're one SERIOUS gamer.

I think its cuz by the 16, all the stores will be sellin the game... like Circuit City, Toys R Us, Best Buy, Target, them types of stores.

But my gamespot will have it tomorrow around Noon.

Video games always come in on Tuesdays... as do movies and music.

I disagree with you on this. Last year when EA commercialize with a date of release, not all stores had it. I actually ended up going to 6 stores to get one.

that may just be your location... I live in the Bay Area... we have a large community... every store around here, every gamespot any way, gets it around the same time of the same day.

If the game is really inticipated, som stores will open up at Midnight and sell it.

You joined this site in 2003 so I think you missed out on the conversation, so I'll fill you in it. BEstbuy who had guaranteed the released broke it. You would not understand how long the posts got just dicussing what store to go. I personally wrote a complaint to Bestbest for FALSE commercializing.

All im tryin to say, is here in California, in the bay area, I can pick up the game on Tuesday between the times of Noon and 2pm, when UPS usually delivers the new games on Tuesday... every Tuesday.

You're missing the point. Even when a store guarantees it, they have a great chance of not having it. Like FVDMC have said, Bestbuy in manhattan broke the promise.

Sure, maybe the store wont have, maybe the corporation doesnt receive its units for whatever reason, therefore all Best Buys in the area will not have it...

What I am saying is,

In this area, on every Tuesday, we get all the new movies, games, and music cd's.... this is just the way its distributed in the area... so if Gamespot doesnt have it, then I can go to Kay-B-Toys and get it, if they dont have it, I can go to the next game store and get it... it will be somewhere, regardless if UPS doesnt receive the game for one particular store.

I got a friend who works at Best Buy and he says they normally get shit a week early... he got the Obie Trice album like a week and a half before it was to be sold, so just because one corporation doesnt have the game, doiesnt mean its not released yet.

No offence, but you do realize most of those stores don't give a crap what you say. If they replied to you, that's good. I'd be more inclined to throw your complaint in the garbage if I were the manager. Games are always like this. Just because something is 'suppozed' to be released on a certain day at a certain location who's to say they'll definitely have it? If they don't, normally stores will give some bs excuse that their shipment is late or something.
Having said that, some stores DO release their games a few days early 'illegally'. Halo PC was done that way at electronics boutique in several locations. So October 14th, October 16th, whatever. Both are equally likely, and both probably will happen depending on your area.

just say, this is how it is at best buy...
my friend is sitting here right now...here....this is what he says.
ok as far as best buy is concerned, the only reason why shit is pushed back is because of the lack of other companies not recieving it, so when its not released its because the company that makes the game pulled a red flag on the game, and we hold the displays in the back for a day or two, we have matrix reloaded in store right now, that was red flagged till tuesday tomarrow, but we got matrix reloaded on dvd in the store 1 week before that, and as jdotk stated, we had obie trice 1 and a half weeks early, that was flagged because, FEDEX was delayed with another companies shipment, so they pushed it back. and another thing, game stop is probably 10% more expensive than best buy. im in the inventory part of best buy and i see these flags go up all the time you can count on it if you recieve something really early that it will be delayed, and also, stock in some stores is less than others, due to the fact of the size of the store, or the manufacturer not getting out alot of copies of the game, movie, or other stock. thats how it works, just accept the fact that best buy will always be cheaper than ne other store in the country. and game stop has something like a 7 day return policy and best buy has a 30 day, and as far as thier courrier is concerned, they use FEDEX AIR, not UPS GROUND
