How to do a Off-Ball Control???

On PS2, press the R3 button (push the right analog stick). I'm sure it's similar for the other versions as well.

you can assign it on the pc in controller configurations =)
by default i think its button 12 or 13, ( pressing down on the right analog stick if u are able to do that) :)

First assign a button to the off-ball control.

Then after u press the off-ball control button (you dont have to hold on to it like the direct pass), the corresponding "buttons" for each player will appear just like the direct pass. Press the corresponding button to the player u want to control.

You now have control of that player without the ball.

You can run around to get open. Experiment with the freestyle control to do moves without the ball. (up for spinmove, down for sudden change of direction, and u can also do fake left go right, etc).

Press the pass button if you want the guy with the ball to pass it to you.

Press the lob button if you want the guy with the ball to give u an alley-opp.

Press the backdown button to set a pick for a teammate.

Press shoot/layup/dunk to tell the guy wif the ball to shoot/layup/dunk.

Press the off-ball switch button again to switch guys.
