About sliders. Those who adjust them, please read

It seems like you guys adjust your sliders based on someone's ratings, play onegame, and decide if it's good or not. I even saw someone asnwer after they played just 1 half.

Come on.. That will NOT give you a good idea if the sliders worked or not. Maybe the game you played simple was one of those when the computer is sluggish and fouls a lot? Maybe you had low FG% because you were 'cold'. etc.

Play 3 games or so, and THEN post if you like the sliders or not .

I can't speak for everyone who posts sliders, but I had played a few games when I posted my slider suggestions. I know they are not perfect, which is why I'm still experimenting with slider tweaks.

I'm sure most people play more than one game before they decide various sliders need tweaking. The problem is, what works for some people will not work for others. Varying levels of skill and styles of play make it difficult for one slider configuration to work for everyone.

but they do work andrew... the ones they you posted and some people posted actually work.

when my rockets team are against a much lower rating team, the likes of LAC, MIA, UTAH.. i usually win by an average of 10-15 points.

but for the likes of spurs, nets, pistons... its either i lose or win by an average or 2-8 points

Relying on the slider too much may be bad in the sense that instead of improving your own game player skills by getting used to the game's difficulty you just try to make the game easier by changing sliders. For example, instead of defending the pt guard and letting him penetrate, you decide to change the sliders for game speed.

Not saying that the sliders shouldn't be used but I think everyone should play the game for a longer period then decide what sliders should be adjusted.

ea should put the game at sliders they think will produce good gameplay like they should have fatigue and sub frequnecy all set not at 0 and fouls and all that at a setting they think is valid so then when we change them the changes will be minimal not drastic...maybe they could also post slider suggestions on their page or something

people have been asking for this for as long as ea has had sliders. never happen. like in a madden 2004 interview the interviewer asked if they would ever issue documentation about exactly what the sliders affect and how much and the interviewee basically said no as it's a secret. i guess they think in we knew exactly what and how much sliders effect things in game that we wouldn't buy future installments of the game. i say it would make their games sooooooooooooo much better and i would still lay down 50 bucks year in and year out.

I think they keep it secret because they don't want competitors getting too much information about their game engine.
