I'm having difficulty getting in the lane. The freestyle moves are suppose to allow you to do that, but I can't get there. Maybe its the defense the opposition is playing. When I do get in, it usually results in a offensive foul. It feels like a force field is pulling towards me when I try to drive. Anyone else feel me on this? Any pointers would be appreciated.

I can get to the lane bu I mostly use the triple freestyle or go off picks. But I understand what your saying though. I think that in the past everybody was so use to getting thier way with the game that it an a djustment to what game is now.

Sup Flash, Thx for the reply, see you're from the "D" too. Born and raised there. Living in the Northern Suburbs now though. Take care.

I can get to the hole, use match-up's . Freestyle is hard to use, use picks.

I like the way they play defense now. You can't just freestyle your way in. However, here are some "moves" you can use. If you are dribbling with the player's right hand. Tap the right analog stop to the right, he'll do a little fake. Then hold the LEFT analog stick to the left. He'll do a pretty crossover. Hold the left analog stick to the right, he'll do a stutter step like move. If you are doing it with the left hand, just switch the directions. These 2 moves work pretty well. However, remember, take advantage of the match ups just like in real life. If its a big guy, use the moves I just mentioned because you are quicker. If you are stronger than your guy, post him up and go for a fade away. And if you drive to the point that you are semi close to the rim, use the hop step. Oh yea, if you drive past your guy and the D seems to catch up and you are about to bump into them yet you are close to the rim with full speed, dunk it. With a good dunker, they'll go up because they have all that momentum.

If nothing else works, you could always reduce the CPU on-ball defense a bit. It gives you some more space and doesn't feel like they are pushing you away as much.

You have to make a freestyle move before your opponent gets close to you. I usually use the spin move then the pro-hop, then make the lay up or jump shot in the lane.

forget freestyle moves. triple threat is the way to get to the hoop. get the ball and while you still have the option to dribble pivot to one side and spin to other or jab step the one side and try to drive to the other.
triple threat is what you want.
