What plays do you like to use?

And what are some of the creative things you do with the play calling?

I'm using the Bulls, so I run a few isolations for Pippen, Rose and Crawford. I'll often post up Curry, Chandler and Marshall and feed them the ball down low. I've also been using basket cut with some success in recent games.

On defense, I usually prefer half court man-to-man, though I'm thinking of using half court trap. Sometimes I'll extend to a full court press, and I'll usually call for a double team as soon as the team's star gets the ball. I hardly ever play zone defence - usually if I call for one, it's because I hit the wrong button.

Why? It's pretty pointless? Man-to-man is much better, it just picks up the player in shooting range. Half court man-to-man, at least for me, always allows the players to burn my defenders.

As for me, I use Basket Cut, Post Up and Pick & Roll, very often. I wish they still had Pick & Fade. For defense, it depends on which team I'm playing but I generally use man-to-man.

In 2003 I used the post up for Tim Thomas a lot (BTW I had a fantasy draft franchise, with Chandler, Thomas, Q Richardson, D Mase, Colin (me!!!), and Curry, Alston and Tayshaun off the bench) and I absolutley destroyed with him, averaged 22 and 11 in 6 minute quarters with him. I frequently ran a pick and roll for Colin (the pg) as I was coming down the court, and Mason and Richardson got lots of wing isolations.

On D I would start out with man-to-man then at teh beginning of the second quarter throw them out of whack with my subs bringing a full court. Teams played very poorly against me in the 2nd quarters. I'd keep full court on until the end of the quarter and usually lead by around 10-15 going into halftime. And then they drained fadeaway 25 footers over 3 defenders with 2 seconds left on the shotclock like always.

I dont run any manual defensive plays but my fav offensive play is "basket cut". The name says what it is already...cause one of your men moves without the ball and heads for the basket. Its a great way to get assists and to set up an easy basket (alley-oop).

I usually control one of my big men, leaving my CPU teammates to defend the perimeter. It seems to work for me. I did try using man to man and a half court trap a couple of times in my last game though. It might not get the results you want, but it works for me. (Y)

Hey...a quick question...with the 10- man motion offense feature...does it mean...if i run a motion offence...that: (This is my motion offense)

Say my point is at the top of the key....he need to pass to a guy on the sideline...then has to cut... In the game-will the players do this?

Also, after the cut and a guy replaces him at the top, does the game do this? Basically Pass, cut and replace...Is the game smart enough to do this?

Also, with Zone defense...are there different types of Zone Defenses...like a 2-2-1 or a 1-2-2? And how does the Game's Players react as the defense to the ball/ballcarrier

There are a few different zone defenses in the game. 2-3 Zone is one of the default defensive plays, but there's about 3 or 4 zone defenses available.

I dont know about plays but the Jamal Crawford Crossover in Limpdilznik's Sig is what i accidentally did with Ricky Davis against the knicks....It was like...it got copied! He did a Behind the Back Crossover and then the Lob Show...The Lob Shot looked just like the one in Limp's Sig

I answered that in the post immediately before yours:

For offense, I normally use post up, isolation, motion, and 3 point plays. On defense, I always use man to man (it works the best for me compared to other defenses. Zone doesn't work well for me.) When I'm falling behind, it's time for full court press :) I occasionally use half court trap if it's suitable.

I use Motion, Sideline Triangle, Double High, and Pick and Roll with a Box or 3pt in my team strategy choice. This allows me to put people at different places on the floor but more importantly, I hold the X button a lot after the pass or use the R3 option. These plays get your computer controlled player to do certain things and go certain places. Scored 56 on NJ with Allan Houston like this...the computer took most of the shots!

To me that is one of the main highlights of this game.

On defense still experimenting with the Zone defenses for the Knicks and Mutombo
