Slam Dunk mod? anyone?

Mon Nov 03, 2003 3:24 am

I don't know if many people here have seen the animated series Slam Dunk...Anyone interested in a mod?

What do you mean?

There's an anime called Slam Dunk.
Which is about basketball and one of the best animes made in my opinion.
I think it would be interesting to make a mod about it for nba live 2004.
I'm not sure tho.
For now, I'm just checking for interest.
Or if someone would be willing to help out.
(Nothing has been decided yet...NBA Live 2004 hasn't even come out for PC)

Can't be done. The only thing that you can do to nba live in terms of moding is changing the music, changing graphics, edit/changing models around. It sounds like you're talking about a mod where by we'd need to make and implement new animations into the game....thus far thats "atawazu" (impossible in jap )

I'm a big fan of Slam Dunk and I'd really like to see a mod.

And if there was a Streetball Mod, why can't there be a Slam Dunk Mod. I don't think he was planning to implement any new animations anyway.

Some kind of confusion may have arose from the word "anime," but that's just a word for japanese animation. He wasn't talking about adding new animations to NBA Live.

And if there's anything I can help with as far as the mod is concerned, i.e. character information, team information, player ratings, etc. I'd be happy to help. I used to have a midi of the soundtrack, too. But I can't do anything like making cyberfaces and stuff...

All the best,

Eugene

On a side note, there's an online comic called "BuzzerBeater," created by the same guy who wrote Slam Dunk. If you guys want to check it out, here's the link.

actually, i've seen some guys play live 2003 with "Slam Dunk" characters.

i think it's very easy for the patchers to do because it's just
some modification on the clothes, cyberface, etc.
It proved on how incredible they can do in other mods (such as street mod, national team). (Y)

that just reminded me. With teams from Buzzer beater, there would be quite a lot of teams. (which is good since Slam Dunk doesn't have that many teams)
Yea all there would be needed is some cyberfaces and stuff.
Would doing cyberfaces in Anime be harder?

Ok so if you're talking about making new courts...graphics..then that can be done. Only problem is...anime characters are very unique looking. In nba live the players dont have huge eye models, skinny structures and pointy hair on their heads. Dont expect it to look very good

well the anime style of slam dunk is not that outrageous/exaggerated tho.
Not to mention that most of the players are based on a real player.
The main character is based on Rodman(looks like him), the main SF is based on Jordan (doesn't look like him), the main C is based on Ewing (looks like him), the main PG is based on Pippen (doesn't look like him), and the main SG is based on Reggie (doesn't look like him)

here's a pic of the main character.
