Dynasty Retirements

Does anyone know if there's a way in Dynasty Mode that you could delay the retirements of players?

If you have the PC version, you can probably delay their retirement by editing their birthdate so they become younger.

Since you have the Gamecube version no1shaqfan, you aren't able to do that.
