OK, yeah, Live 2003 had no LAN option. OK, fair enough, deadlines and such. Now Live 2004, it's pretty much the same engine, just tweaked, they've had a year to work on it now.
So, is there a LAN option? They have the ability to play over the net, why wouldn't they include the option for LAN games?
LAN aint that bad on 2003 at all (just use direct ip, but the local ip and not the remote ip). But Internet is total shit yes... Lots of people have great connections over the net, but for every good one theres at least 3 bad ones.
It has been this way since Live 99. If you go to the Wishlist Forum, you'll see some key changes that need to be made. However, not many people talk much about internet, so I guess EA just ignores it.
I play Live on my network at home (4 PC's ranging from 750 mhz-1.6 ghz) without any problems.
I have my PC hooked up to a Linksys router with no problem.
1. I'd check my cables and Nic cards and router settings.
2. go to dslreports.com they'll show how to tweak your registry and network settings for better performance on a lan or wan.
