Just finished watching them. The training session thing looks cool and I liked how they were describing paul pierce in the last video as an intro. (Y)

Correct me if im wrong but in the first video how they load their dynasty isn't from the menu like we saw early when the whole argument about in game saves came up. So wouldn't this suggest in game saves actually might be apart of the game afterall?

Atkins - 53ovr lmfao wow they really tweaked with ratings this year, Billups only a 67 this should be really interesting someone should keep track of all the player ratings and make a list.

Umm wow, The magic offered Drew Gooden for Elden Campbell? I'm gonna blame that on Drew being a 66 and Campbell being a 63, hopefully its not bad trade AI

Noticed after a few games J-Kidd was averaging 28/9/8 with 2 steals...Wow

After 3 games Darko is averaging 20ppg, Houston is scoring 114 a game. New York 109? So far i'm a little suprised by the simming, Francis averaging 36ppg, Bonzi wells 25ppg. no Kobe or McGrady in the top 9

it looks like we don't participate in training camp mode, its just a cutscene :? :(

I loved the pierce introduction :)

This year's game is so deep that its almost intimidating...alot to take in. I'm curious about how patching will take place...very interesting. Looks like there will be alot of stuff that can be patched.

nice link. See how the ESPN basketball fans attack?..lol. I feel good about our game being the best this year.

Yeah there's a lot to take in from Live 2k4 and I must admit, have exceeded my expectations for this year's edition.

I just hope they didnt use too much time for everything else that they forgot to make patching simple. I too hope that patching is the same process and as easy as it was in Live 2003.

Well, I think the reason behind this is that Kidd and Francis have only played one or two games in that season, not everyone starts the season on Oct. 29th... Same goes for Houston and New York averaging that many points.

I hope you're right but that doesnt explain the Drew Gooden for Elden Campbell offer

The Inside Stuff ish is a very ncie touch, I like the player progression screen after training camp, looks a lot like Madden. I really like the look of dynasty's depth, it's fantabulous (so good it deserves a new word). Especially the hiring different coach's, although I wanted to see that task list thing. I don't think the high points should be worried about because for all we know the game might have gone into OT.

That PP intro is mighty fine.

Tue Oct 07, 2003 12:56 pm

im so impressed with all the new features etc, this game will be great. It seems ea have a multi year plan for taking nba live to an untouchable place and i hope they get there..........

Tue Oct 07, 2003 2:11 pm

yea, tht paul pierce intro was sweet! saying how he torched the pistons in previous games, but how do they do that? by auto saving replays or do they just have replays for star players saved already?

and i don't think the high scores are anything to worry about, like colin826 said, it could have gone into OT, also, since its only Houston and New York, that could just mean a game between the Rockets and the Knicks on opening night.

It's great that we can play training camp, but what would there be to play? i haven't played madden so i wouldn't know.... i would probably just sim it after one or two go's on it.

Also, I guess that Campbell for Gooden trade could be something to do with the teams aims? maybe each team has their aims for trading, eg. the Pistons may wanna go for potential over talent, while the magic traded Gooden, because their aim that was programmed was to get immediate impact players?

I think it might have had more to do with getting a decent C and already having Juwan Howard who might be listed at PF on the game.

I wonder how the trading system will work this time? Hope that we don't trade a bunch of nobodies for an all-star (i have to admit it did happen in real life). When that Gooden-Campbell (CPU to USER) trade happened, are we given a chance to up/make changes to the offer? I would like the chance to add players to the deal so instead of shipping one player, i would be able send 2 and get probably two in return.

How about the computer trade A.I.? are we still going to see random trades and one-to-one trades again? I hope not....

cheers! :D

Yeah yeah ... i'm allso excited about the videos. It's gonna be a lot better game this year and compared to that live 2003 will be trash.

But despite of that - basketball on ice continious. It just hurt me when i watched one video with good fastbrake (finished by dunk) and then the reply - realy not nice. But if we close one eye in this point - this game will be very good.

It certainly looks like they taken the rating system to the carbage cans... In the NHL dynasty the players always play with lower ratings. And your team "dynasty" options effect their ratings. Like if you have good practice facilities at home, your players suffer less minuses at home games and if you have good transportation, well your team will be better on the road. I think this is in the game, and they said on numerous occations that you will be able to get a plane for your team to move around etc. And about these minuses... It is not uncommon in the early days of the dynasty to have minuses as large as 10 points or even 20 to stats. For example if you practice too hard and play a lot of games (in NHL) your team will probably have -20 to endurance and you have to do really quick line changes. This system is just excellent cause you can really feel a hot streak and a cold streak on a guy. Chances are that these are implemented as well...

There will be a lot of depth in the dynasty and the fact that Big Ben has 75 overall in one of those vids, well the game just has to have the plane purchasing etc. too.

There are two sides to in the NHL to this dynasty building thing... A player rating side and a financial side. As the finances looked pretty much the same (points still in there) well it could mean that the NBA only has the "player rating" side of this thing. So you can with some points buy an upgrade to your travelling conditions, equipment, practice facilities, physical training stuff or locker room...

What these effect in NHL:

traveling conditions - help player on the road

equipment - better shooting and skating

practice facilities - improves player ratings at home

physical training - improves endurance and athletical abilities

locker room - improves team morale

I'm expecting something like this to be in NBA Live 2004 too... Something like. NBA might have more options cause they don't have the whole financial side of things...

This is probably the reason why the player overalls are so low in dynasty.

And what comes to that trading thing... Could the AI actually make some smart moves??? Elden Cambell for Drew Gooden would be a good trade for Orlando as they have no centers at all (no offense to DeClerq (or something)) and Howard is probably more better at PF and Orlando is looking for the title now! And not in a couple of years... They wouldn't have signed Howard if they weren't going for the title this year or the next. I really hope that the AI does smart deals that help a teams weak position rather then signing 3 all-star small forwards and fielding a crappy power forward or/and shooting guard. And I really hope the AI can switch player positions to field the best possible unit available. But this does not seem to be so, as Gooden is probably better then DeClerq and Gooden has enough size to play center atleast in the east. And they plan to do this, mark my words...

I have a good feeling about this game... I just hope they don't hide all the info like they did in NHL 2004.
