LIVE's Defense

Postby pissonyouboy on Tue Sep 30, 2003 5:53 am

I been a 2k fan for years but this new live look sweeter than a naked chick eating strawberries  I'm damn near sold. However I am kinda worried whats up with the D. When I play I like defense but in last years game it was not uncommon to see 170 pt game if you were playing one of your boys.

So if anyone has any noise on what the Defense is going to be like this year let me know.

thanks[/b]

with the help from 10-men freestyle, the defense will react to the play much better...meaning computer-controlled defenders will be able to make smarter plays, such as stepping into the lane and making switches after pick and roll. so there would be less trip to the basket with simple moves of freestyle. but we wont know for sure until the game comes out

Trust me live 2004 has the best Defense in any basketball game to date. You will see guy's get down and derrty on the floor for loose balls. You will see very realistic block shots, which will be acknowledged by the commentators. That only just a few of the things that will be in Live 2004. But the defense tutorials aren't out yet, but rest assured defence is in NBA Live 2004 (The ten-man mo-cap worked wonders).

P.S Welcome to the good side (I see you noticed the grass is greener over here).

just read any preview. The defense has improved as well, for example; it easier to block or stop a lay-up/dunk.

It's kind of funny that I was eating a strawberry when I read that first line. Unfortunately I was neither naked nor a chick at the time.

I want to see defensive stoppers actually give scorers difficulty. In 2003, you could put Bruce Bowen on Kobe or someone and it made no difference...they'd still bust out an array of random moves and dunk the ball...

after watching the video clips available, I'm not really seeing the effectiveness of the defence, sure the other players are doing stuff, but they ain't really locking or slowing down any of the offensive players :?

hope i'm wrong though..

I really hope the D in this game is up to par. I'm ready to give Live their crown back. But at the same time I want the best b-ball game out there and to me thats the game that simulates both defense and offense the best. Truthfully i think this game looks the best OVERALL out of all the titles. I just hope for a solid D. I'm goning to buy the game no matter what but if NBA Lives defense is up to par its over! I won't even rent ESPN basketball.
