Dynasty Concern

Postby arthur2004 on Mon Sep 22, 2003 10:16 am

I got nhl 2004 yesterday and played it alot..awesome game by the game...and i tryed out the dynasty mode.....and it was awesome ...the way u by things for ur team like jets/gyms/trainmers...there were alot of stuff..but there was one prob...i couldn't select anything other then 82 game lenght season....if uii select season i can select any length i want..but in dynasty mode...only 82 is allowed....is it gonna be like this in live 2004.... 82 games a season is way too much for me

Well they had the option of changing the games per season in 2003 and I doubt that they removed it.

i have a feeling that nba live's dynasty mode might be a shade less than that of Madden and the NHL series. BUT, if the live series fixes the dumb free agent signings after every year and add some ingame injuries--I will be very satisfied (plus the other things we've heard about the dynasty mode like trading of draft picks)

I feel pretty safe in saying we'll be able to change the season length and playoffs format in Dynasty Mode.

I'm not promoting piracy or anything like that, but the pirate versions of all ea games are usually released a couple of days before retail release... Strange , i know, buts thats how it is.
P.S. im not promoting piracy, nor giving any information on pirate versions. I'm just giving u the facts. So dont flame me or anything, i'm going to buy the game legit.

I'm hoping for real salaries but those can always be added, I'm also hoping like many that they really pay attention and make this game playable for a few years like they did with Live 2000, look at the forum people are still patching that game and playing it because it was a solid game on the court and has replay value. The sad thing is EA won't ever have to really push themselves because they have next to no competition in any sports title on PC.

One guideline to EA's this years products has been that there's more you can do with money then get players.

According to the NHL screenshots of the salary system I've seen, well they aren't using real money amounts, but something like real money amounts. And this is a good sign. I've also seen an NHL pic about buying more staff etc. And they've used the same money as you use to get players on board.

NBA Live could have something like this in it. We've asked around a lot for realistic money system, but we probably should be asking what else can we do with points that are the player salaries!

To the question of real money, they've shot us down, but has this question ever been really asked? I don't think so. Maybe it would be a good time to ask it.

I have a feeling that the dynasty will be better and deeper then they've lead us believe.

We'll have Dynasty Points for additional training staff and so forth. A points system doesn't bother me too much, as long as it's used effectively.

Just a reminder that talking about illegal downloads (NBA Live or otherwise) is prohibited in this forum, so let's not get any further into that discussion. Thanks. :)
