I don't know exactly, but the minimums aren't so hard to come by these days. Probably something like 600MHz and 128Mb ram etc. The typical, but what does it take to run the game like it was meant to be ran is a whole other question.

The real question is that: What does it take to run the game close to full details?

A monster card like 9700 or FX5900 is a must imo

I'm afraid that the new 2004 would add may directX9 effects...in that case, my Ti4200 will be useless :(

I have a Ti4200 too... Damn that would suck, I've only had the thing for a year now. It would be a shame, if they did something too cool to run with the Ti4200 card.

Well, we will just have to wait and see... Yeah, I could go and buy me a new one, but it is frustrating.

The minimum requirements will probably be slightly higher than the minimum requirements of NBA Live 2003. For those of us who are running Live 2003 at a lower detail level with decent framerates, I'm sure we'll be able to run Live 2004 at a lower detail level too.

By the way, there's already a couple of threads about system requirements that we created not that long ago. Please check that out before you post.

If you can run Madden 04 you should be able to run this game, madden 04 is running smoothly on alot of lower end machines.

I think madden runs on a 700mhz machine.

I really hope they fix the code...cause live gets really crappy frame rates on nice machines. It's like they tweak it to play on consoles and the pc version is an after thought when it comes to that.

You said it Yohance. The user interface in Live 2003 was screaming console in front of me so loud I could only just bare to look at it. PC has so much more space on the screen and the benefit of higher resolutions that the UI should be designed for the PC all over again.

PC you can make a much better UI for pc just because we have the mouse too. But that also has it's limitations. The scroll bars were from hell in Live 2003 and obviously designed for consoles...

Obviously, no producer will be stupid enough to design a new UI for a single platform...they even don't want to optimize performances for each platform as it will cost them a lot.

NBA Live is popular in the field of PC sportgame...but sorry to say, it is only ONE of the games of EA :(

The NHL team has done it for quite some time now. Last year they had a UI that was so completely filled with information that you can't possibly fit all that on a television screen.

There just is no way...

This is why they should start with the PC UI and try to make it work with the consoles too. The UI in Live 2003 was just BAD! With all the list after list after list to go through to get to a game and the fact that all the writing was done in size 64 writing and the fact that when you fantasy draft a team you can see only like 4 names on the list at one time so you really have to go through the list to see if there is anyone else out there. And the fact that the scroll bars were just incredibly horrible to use. I wouldn't want a Live 2003 UI for my worst enemy. There is only so much sanity in people.

No matter how good the game is, the UI can kill everything if it is hard to use. The game needs to be easy to use and you should be able to get to another page in only moments. This is one thing that Moo3 had right.

UI is everything to a product... And I certainly hope it's good. I don't want to see another console oriented UI. Or there's going to be hell to pay.

And I think this is one of the reasons why the game was dubbed as bad as it was. On the PC the game was very arcadish, but I think the fact that it was quite hard to use and took a lot of time to use it anyway was a factor there in there albeit it wasn't a very active one.

My computer is 3 years old...
600 mhz, 64 MB RAM. It barely ran Live 2001, so I'm praying Live 2004 will work.

P.S anyone know when demo is coming out?????

If you could run NBA Live 2003 with reasonable detail settings, I'd say you should be able to run NBA Live 2004.

I have a crap computer that was top a the line in 98 when we got it (NBA Live 99-01 were AMAZING, I could run all on full detail) but Live '03 I could originally only run it at everything low except player detail at medium, then I got FIFA 03, NFS: Hot Pursuit 2, and Medal of Honor and I had to run it even lower.

Hey guys, I'd just like to point something out (being the computer nerd I am) about system requirements:

System requirements cannot get too high for these games. If you think about it, the XBOX contains (I think) a P3 768mhz processor and geforce3 graphics card. And its the most powerful console. Which means that any game converted from console (XBOX) to PC will probably not require much, if any, more processor power than this. I mean, it may need more to run windows and such, but xbox runs on a stripped down version of windows 2000 as well! So I wouldn't worry too much about system requirements. (I have rallisport challenge converted from xbox, pretty graphically intense, guess what, min processor = 768mhz!)

Yeah, so that's my 2 cents, dunno if its right or not, but it makes sense;)

lol its always funny to me when ppl with fairly beefed up systems say "oh no i hope i can play the game". i have the same integrated graphics card in my pc from 3 years ago and it still runs live fairly well lol
