NBA Live 2004 Sound

Postby ThisizaJackMove on Sat Aug 02, 2003 6:58 am

TWISTA on the Intro!!!

I just finish watching that new intro vid for live, and listen to Twista spit a sick flo on that. Any word on the rest of NBA live's soundtrack?

Also during gameplay, They should have organs playin instead of a Just Blaze beat, that'll make the game more of a NBA feeling instead of NBA STreet-like...Maybe Da-Da-Da-Da-Da-Daaaa, Charge!!!!

How about Defense chants or that signature De-Fense chant from Indiana on the PA...That sh!t cracks me up every time I hear it.

I don't think much has been said about the soundtrack. The soundtrack doesn't really worry me, but I'm hoping for more realistic rim sound effects, especially when dunking.

They most likely gonna have 50 on it. Joe Budden, David Banner, Chingy.
You know the hits of 2003 and some unreleased tracks.

and i agree with Andrew, i hope they replaced the rim sound when some1 dunks it or makes a shot.
Make it sound realistic instead of making it sound like a door slamming :?

I haven't taken notice, but is that noise still in the game when you take a 3 pointer? like it was in 2002?

dunking sound

Postby AznBBoyX on Sun Aug 03, 2003 5:26 am

What was up with that dunking sound anyways in 2003. Why did they change it. In 2001, it was good. But in 2003, it sounded like 2 trash can lids banging.

Not only that...

And the "swooshing" sound before the dunk is awful too...
I have dunk before and I can't heard that sound myself???....
Where did EA come up with that anyway??....
It doesn't add any "excitement" to the game too... Personal opinion...

That's been taken out, fortunately.

Exactly. :) It's a trivial point to make, I know, but sound effects contribute to the whole atmosphere of the game.

You mean in NBA Live 2002? I don't think it's in NBA Live 2003. :?

If you watch kobe's InBetweenTheLegs Dunk from the 87 All Star Game at Gund Arena you'll hear a SWOOSHCLANK like noise

Oh and Live 2003 i know some of the songs in that game when you hear that song when dribbling down court making the ALARM noise and playing a rap beat that is 50 Cent i have the song its called "Got The Hood On Smash" and they should also make REMIXES for the songs that have no relation to basketball like "Rid Wit Me" by MC Lyte in NBA Street Vol. 2 the lyrics are changed

The sound effect in NBA Live 2002 was not realistic though - it was very "arcade-ish".

By listening to the dunking sound on that 2004 intro, looks like the dunk sound is still stupid... :? But we might be able to patch sound in 2004 hopefully.

If everything but the dunking sound is fine, obviously I'm going to be grateful and happy to have the game I've been hoping for. But these little things all contribute to the atmosphere and feel of the game.
