NBA ShootOut 2004 readies itself to compete for the championship trophy with an updated Career Mode. Gamers will once again get the opportunity to earn a spot in the NBA by working their way through the Summer Pro League and National Basketball Development League.

Agreed.....It would be fun doing that in a live game. Having to work for your place.

Who knows if it'll happen or not though in the future.

Do u work ur rookies and sohpmores in the summer league or ur whole team?

It's just the rookies and sophomores, free agents, and also NBDL players.

Is that a single player career mode? Personally I'd prefer to control an entire team than a single player.

i guess it's ok to get to control a single player throughout his career. Think of it as an expanded create-a-player. Not only will you create your player, you get to decide where he will play bball (except maybe you can't refuse if you get drafted by a cellar-dweller team)... This idea + the power to control an entire team (as we've all grown to love) makes a good combination....Not bad if i say so myself....hopefully it could be in the game.

Nothing wrong with it as long as its in addition to Dynasty Mode. I know a lot of people would like to control a single player, I would prefer to have control over the whole team.

One player career mode would be nice, but we've discussed the problems concerning this issue too... And with time. The main problem was that what if you get to sit on the bench for 35 minutes a game and only play a couple of minutes...

There are some mini-games included in 2004 and those might contain a summer league tour or something.

Career mode that would follow a certain player or players would be nice. This could be extended to be an agent mode too. So you could actually control several players and negotiate the deals for them and trying to keep them all happy and you could control x amount of players instead of just one. Without controlling a team that is.

I do like the team controlling though.

That would be interesting actually, the ability to play different roles in the NBA. But as always, there are things that need fixing in the current game modes before new ones are added.

i can see controlling one player as a mini game on the side it sounds fun and it wouldnt hurt but i to like the idea of controlling the entire team over one person.

I know you're kidding, but there are still plenty of things that could be taken out of the game. Dynasty Mode, 1 on 1 Mode, Practice Mode and Freestyle Control to name a few.

C'mon guys, stop hunting EA down. They changed the production team in the middle of the production of 2001. I think the new team is trying to make the game look like more what they want it to look and I believe that this is a reason why they have taken something out.

And you have to face the fact that somethings aren't just as easy to make for the consoles as they are for PC. And thus they needed to go.

Personally I don't see even what they've taken out, but I guess you guys miss something so badly that you cannot live without it. All I can think of is the 3pt shootout and create a team feature. I really don't miss them all that much. If you miss the three way dealing of 2001, well that didn't really work right did it???

Just wait and see. I think all of us will be positively surprised by the new Live game. They cannot make it any worse then 2003 already is...

i Think the career mode would be good, and during the game if ur not on the court you could have the option to control thw whole team, even better if b4 the game you could select if u were gonna control the whole team (like it is now) or u were gonna play a lock (like u can now) but even if u jst had a lock you could still control the subs......

I'm not hunting EA down. Moreover, I should thank EA for NBA Live series !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, in my opinion, even with all those features have been cut out from NBA Live, it gets better year after year (many people don't share my opinion though)
