Okay, so what do we know about Live 2004 ?

Discussion about NBA Live 2004.

I agree. It's always been the challenge on the harder difficulty levels of NBA Live - your teammates are less helpful, and the CPU opponents gain the ability to make some impossible plays. One of the most frustrating things in NBA Live 2003 is when the CPU goes on its late game three point frenzy, especially when many of them come from pull-ups from 35 feet - which find nothing but net. I'm hoping NBA Live 2004 will change that trend though.

Don and Bob have done a good job, especially with NBA Live 2003. But Marv and Mike will add an authentic feel to the commentary track. I'm hoping Marv's trademark "Yessss!" will make its way into the game. :)

The Movie is like the gameplay.. Notice in the movie someone is driving to the hoop and the center for the other team is just standing there.. Not watching, Stretching his quads or somthing... Hilarious:D

It all makes perfect sense to me about what u guys are saying and stuff but IMHO i think we should not forget its only a basketball game, as in simulation(or arcade  ) and its just not possible to add in the game, technicals arent really necessary, i wanna play ball and not have the game interrupted every two minutes(cuz it seems ea is kind of extreme, or nothing or way too much). And about being dumb on offense and tipping in, tipping at an offensive rebound should occure more often but no to often cuz it aint that much possible irl too(one game more than the other), and IMO its a challenge that ur teammates arent that smart cuz u have to control the game and make the smart decisions(gotta give it to ya guys though that "set pick" should be brought back)and control most of the teams moves(ok ok, stopping while running fastbreak ist my idea of no control) but the way i c it, ea would implent way to much or the cpu could start doing things u dont c quite that way so theres no reason to make things really complex when they can be quite simple but maybe here and there some extra controls to make it easier to make ur teammates do what u want, still following :D . All of this though is my humble opinion and i feel nba is still a good game accept a couple of flaws  .

What I find amusing is that that old arcade game Run N Gun bball from 10 years ago had one of the best double clutch moves where you could go up for a dunk but then turn it into a finger roll. The NBA In The Zone series for PS1 had this move as well and it was great. But NBA Live has ignored it this whole time. Then you had games like NBA 2k3 last year who talked about how some players would alter their shot in the air to get it over shotblockers. Talking like it was a big innovation or something when Run N Gun did it almost 10 years ago and did it a hell of a lot better.

Of course, but furious switching of players on defense is no way to play the game. Also, when you're setting up the offense, your CPU teammates should move around a little more intelligently, come to the passes instead of standing behind the defenders making it impossible to get them the ball. There's some things you just can't do (like control all 5 players' movement at once), so you need your teammates to be a little more helpful.

Yep your teammates all stand behind the opponents like idiots so your passes get intercepted. Also, I don't mind switching on D to make it more challenging but when they purposely program it so that my guys won't even defend the fast break, by the time i switch to those guys, the computer is already way past me and I can't catch him from behind, but the computer can catch me from behind =)

And you can't lob a pass over the top either which is annoying... Yo have to go for the alleyoop or risk passing it...

Defending fast breaks my guys just walk either next to them or go to the defensive positions...

Similarly, sometimes your teammates will just stop running, bringing the fast break to a grinding halt.

Yeah My teamates when they fast break are screwed.. One time my team mate jump to slam, Pass it into the rim and out of bounds.. Other times they just stop dead an set the offense... It pisses me off
