official 2004 patch

so i got the uncracked path from the cd and put it back on again so the official patch would work. But now i cant play the game cause i have the official patch and keeps asking for the right cd. And neither of the two work. So now i will ahve to use the crack again. Will the changes i made strill take effect ewven though i used the crack again? Also will it still prevent those custom load crashes which is why i downloaded the official patch in the first place.?
