NBA Live 2004 FAQ (Newbies, please read before you post)

Hey, i've been sick of seeing lots of the same topic, and very easy questions (at least for me lmao) being asked by Newbies. Now i'm not angry or annything, instead of bitching, I'm actually gonan help you all aight? so here's a FAQ...

1ST OF ALL AND MOST IMPORTANTLY! BACK UP ALL YOUR FILES B4 YOU CHANGE ANNYTHING!

1- Q- How Do I Enable "Custom Art?
A-
1- Ok 1st of all go to your NBA Live Folder Folder...

(default directory- C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA Live 2004
2- then go into "Main" then "csscripts" then right click on "xstartup" and sellect "Open With..." then "Choose Program..." and click "Notepad"

3- then go to the verry bottom you will see...
customart 0
r_playerblendshapes 1
r_coachblends 1
r_reflections 1

4- Now change it to "customart 1" INSTEAD OF "customart 0" and thats it
(trust me its MUUUUUCH easier than it seems


2- Q- How Do I Install Custom Art With "Custom Art" Disabled

3- Q- I Used the "Custom Art" method, but my game crashes!

6- Q- [MEMBER NAME]s Custom Dornas are really cool... how do I install them?
A- 1st of all you need some toold, you need...
1- EAGraphicsEditor
and...
2- FSHEd
(Download all of them at the NLSC home page)

1st, go to the site, and right click the dorna, and click "Save As..." and save it somewhere,

2nd, Use EAGraphicsEditor and go into "xstadium" and extract a teams stadium file, (Example, New York Knicks- nystd.fsh) and if your using Custom Art put it into the "xstadium" folder (if not created already, create it)

3rd, Use the FSH tool open that file (ex- nystd.fsh) and get to, "odrn" and save it as a .bmp

4th, edit the .bmp in paint or photoshop or something, not just coppy and paste the dorna that you downloaded (saved target as) and replace the default dornas in the .bmp and save it when your done,

5th (almost done), Fo back into .fsh and back into that XXcrt.fsh file, and go back to "odrn" and import the edited dorna to replace the default dorna, now just hit "save" and overwrite the XXstd.fsh file

That also is MUCH easier than it looks

6- Q- How Do I Pit Other Dornas in The Game? (IE- Edit The McDonalds, Speedstick, ect ones)

There are three dorna files located in xstadium.viv. dornaseason.fsh, dornaspeedstick.fsh, and dornamcdonalds.fsh.

Extract these files from xstadium.viv using EA Graphics Editor and save them to a safe place. Now you are ready to edit.

Now open dornaseason.fsh, dornaspeedstick.fsh, or dornamcdonalds.fsh with nfshtool. Doing this creates a folder. Inside the folder is the file 0000.BMP. Open this file in MS Paint, Photoshop, or whatever program you use. When you open it you will see EA's dornas. Copy and paste the dornas you made or downloaded over top of EA's ones. When you are done press SAVE....not save as. Then go back to the dornaseason, dornamcdonalds, or dornaspeedstick folder made and open index.fsh with nfshtool. Now you are done.

To install them the CustomArt method
Make a folder in your render folder called xstadium. Put the three dorna files inside this folder. Your dornas are now in the game. If there is already a xstadium folder in your render folder then just put the files into it.

To install them the Permanent method

Genocide, your dorna tutorial only tells how to put team dornas in the game....I will tell you how to put all the others in the game.

For the Season it shows just black ones. And altogether there are 10 dorna files in xstadium.viv! I tried several steps, but I don't know how to get my problem fixed!

ah-ha! ok yeah i realized that too, i guess you have to make the top half of the speedstick.fsh transparent, and the bottom half of the dornaseason.fsh transparent...... i gotta try that in a bit
