just curious since I am new at this.

I just use microsoft excel to edit....SHOULD I be using dbf commander instead??

Excel seems to work fine...but I just wanted to check. It's a lot easier.

the problem was that older version of Excel (2000 and before) could corrupt the dbf files and make your game crash. So DBF Commander, or any other DBF editor is much more recommended for the sake of your rosters :)

The latest versions of Excel are much better at editing DBF files, but I still think it's a little risky. I recommend using the NBA Live Toolkits (the NBA Live 2003 Toolkit will edit most of the values in NBA Live 2004) or DB Commander or one of the other DBF editors.
