v1.09 released...

Sun Aug 01, 2004 2:43 pm

I've completed v1.09 of the current roster update for NBA Live 2004 (updated through July 31st), and it is available to download here. It is also mirrored here.

New in v1.09:
- 2004 Offseason Rosters updated through July 31st, 2004
- Coaches updated (some using generic faces)
- A lot of player ratings and positions updated for better substitution patterns
- A lot of player ratings updated for better simulated and in-game performance
- Lots of changes to the 2004 rookies

As always, feedback and suggestions are most welcome.

Unfortunately I had to work a half-day this weekend, so I was unable to include the 2004 USA Team - I've also been finishing up the 95/96 patch in preparation for its initial release. I should have more free time this week to add this year's USA Olympic team. My apologies to everyone who was looking forward to that.

Once again, thoroughly enjoy and appreciate the rosters Andrew :). However, I do have some initial notes:

Alston should be a hair above AWilliams. Alston should have higher OAware and DAware and lower blocking, while ADub should have lower hardiness and passing (84 is far too high). Also, Rose is the SF, Vince the SG. Minor thing :D. I know Archibald is a big man, but I think he should be on the IR and Glover filling in that last spot. Archibald is the epitome of "stiff."

Al Harrington will for sure play PF now (Diaw the 3), he was mostly 4 or power 3 in Indy anyways. His inside scoring should go up a little bit.

Chris Crawford should have much higher FG (76) and 3 pt (72) to go along with 23' range. He's in the mold of Austin Croshere (big man, outside shooter). Also higher FT rating (around 86% shooter) and lower inside scoring.

Up Gooden's FG rating, should be mid-high 60s and strength as well (low-mid 70s). Lower his dunk (60s), OAware (50s, tendency to ballhog in RL), DReb (60s), inside scoring, OReb (both 60s).

Raise Eric Snow's OAware (80s, 90s), but lower his inside scoring (from 60! to 40s). He should be a bit better than McInnis, whose dunking could use a little decrease.

Increase Bender's FG (70s) and 3 pt (high 60s). He's more of a SF than a SF also, which pushes him down the rotation (which makes sense). Almost forgot, lower his inside scoring to somewhere in the 40s.

I would up Freddie Jones' FG to 68 and 3 pt to 62. He didn't get much of a shot in the regular season but showed he can nail them when given the opportunity.

Thanks Andrew (Y).

Thanks for the corrections. (Y) Basically, McInnis' rating is higher so that he'll get the starting nod (I reduced Snow's stamina rating and raised the same rating for McInnis) when the rosters are automatically reordered.

No problem :). I have a quick question, do you change the lineup in-game or in DBF? Does it always auto-reorder or keep the lineup you last set it?

BTW, I edited my post to add some ratings, seems like we edited and posted at the same time.

Important note about possible correction:

I decided to place Trenton Hassell on the Blazers' roster as he's signed an offer sheet with them, but I'm well aware that there's a good chance the Timberwolves will match the offer. In that event, I will of course move Hassell back to the Timberwolves.

Just saw that, I've noted the changes. (Y)

I always reorder the lineups from within the game. The rosters will automatically reorder whenever there's a trade or when a player is signed, released or edited. Obviously this isn't really an issue for me when I'm working on the rosters as I can always reorder them before I release the patch, but it becomes an issue when playing a Dynasty.

Tremendous as always!

I noticed that Hassel's defensive awareness is back to 76 whereas you had him at 82 in your last update? What happended here? He should be in the mid 80's in this category. Hope others player stats weren't omitted during this process.

Thanks for putting in the hard work chief! :D

I'm not sure how that happened...I believe I actually raised Hassell's defensive awareness to 76 in this update. :? Are you sure it wasn't a correction you made yourself to my last release?

My two cents on Hassell...if Artest and AK 47 are 99 in DAware, Hassell should be a 94. So if Artest is say, 90, I'd make Hassell around 86 (making the #'s up).

Great as always, but there is something. Players that are FA and are rated below 42 are not in the game. So next time lift there ratings up to 42...

Some players aren't deserving of higher ratings at this point in time though. The game will trim the free agent pool year to year in Dynasty Mode too, I can't stop that.

hi Andrew!!!!

just want to know why emeka okafor is not included in the patch... can't find him even in the lineup of charlotte... was he really not included as one of the rookies in your roster patch?

Wed Aug 11, 2004 2:48 pm

Okafor is in the patch on the Bobcats' roster. Are you sure you're using v1.09? :?

yes i have the same version... yeah... you can play the bobcats in the "play now" mode but what about "dynasty" mode? Can't see charlotte

Thu Aug 12, 2004 1:49 am

Bobcats can be used in dynasty mode.

maybe... but you have to do some editing right? its not like you can just use them normally... i tried it last night and i still can't use them in dynasty mode... i can only use the bobcats in "play now" mode... sorry if i kept on asking about this... i read in the other post that you have to do some editing for you to be able to play charlotte... is this true?

It's possible, but you must replace one of the existing teams when you modify the database. Since it isn't fair to remove one of the other 29 teams (since no doubt someone will want to use them in Dynasty Mode), I haven't made the modification myself in the roster patch - I'm leaving it up to each user to decide what to do.
