HELP! can't change plays(offense,defense) n game restarting

hi. im using windows xp. when i play nba live 2004. a blue screen appears with things written(all i can see was something with "system dump". i cant see much because the blue screen appears for only 1 second only. then my computer restarts automatically.) it goes back to windows. i press ctrl alt del and the task manager displays "savedump"(not normally present) in the processes tab. it happens anywhere. but seldom in gameplay. this doesnt happen everytime. probably around 3 out of 5 times i play nba live.
another problem with my nba live 2004 is i cant change offensive or defensive plays. i go to settings playbook then i change an offensive/defensive play. i'm very sure i dont press back/cancel button. i go back to game and nothing is changed. i need help pls.
