Trying to start making cyberfaces... need a little help..

Sat Jul 10, 2004 3:54 pm

I want to try patching, and I just started out. I don't want to jump into everything like shoes and headshapes and stuff, so for now, I'm just sticking to making new cyberfaces. I've been primariily using the tutorial on .org, and even though I know virtually nothing in Photoshop (except maybe blur and crop and image resize) I was able to create a cyberface. Now I want to get it set up so I can view it in the game with custom art on, but I'm having a little bit of trouble. First, some questions:

(Note: I used Tony's KG 2.0 Custom art method for this)

1. Is it OK for me to only include the 'kegarne.fsh' in the render/xplayer folder without all the other eyes and .o stuff?

2. Is the bhed in the 'playername.fsh' a .fsh file or what? .BMP?

3. I've got the cyberface saved as a .bmp, how do I go about saving it as a .fsh file (if that's what you do), and regardless of that, how would I put it inside 'playername.fsh'?

So far this seems a lot easier then expected I've been here for an hour so far working on my first cyberface and I can't wait till I see it ingame! My worst fear is that if I have to include all the .o files and such in the xplayer folder, that would be a hassle to do...

1) yep

2) um.. the fsh is a .fsh file....

3) just open up someone else's fsh in EAGE... and click import

make sure the eyes/nose/lips match up with the original cyberface if you don't intend to edit the headshape
good luck (Y)

Ok, I got to the point now where I can see my faces ingame w/ custom art, now the next step is to make a good face! How do you guys blend your faces? I put the face in, adjust the colors, etc until the face kind of matches the rest of the cyberface, then I use the blur to try to make it blend around where I placed the face. I look at it ingame and not only does it look too bright, it looks like his face was stapled on or something!
