Ruffryder8 - That's the esiest way to beat the Mavs zone i think =) In the first half they always play zone. The corner man is almost always open.
In the second half, they switch to man to man. To battle the Man-to-man, Isolations ( just like real life)! =) Get you best penetrater the ball near the arc in the tripple threat postion.
NOTE* If your at home, the "eat my dust move" is different from say when your playing away
- If your at home, to leave your defender, use the right analog stick and hold either right or left, depends on your position.
You want your man to hold the ball low while he takes a step toward the defender exposing his back to him - the create space freestyle, hold the oppostie direction to turn around and drive to the lane, since your on iso, the cpu won't be able to help out in time.
If your away - to leave your opponent, the jab step is the easiest way to leave your opponent. In the tripple threat position, tap up with the right analog. You man will jab step then your can either go to his right or left into the lane

with Dallas, I just play full court press and try to trap them ... especially when steve nash doesnt have the ball on the inbounds. It really frustrates them. The one thing that frustrates me so much about Dallas is Finley. He suddenly became a GAZELLE!!! He runs so damn fast ... as soon as the mavs get a rebound ... they throw the ball to finley and there's a dunk.
I think your best defense against the Mavs is your offense. They love to play zone so have your best 3 point shooter play the 2 or the 3 and have them stand in the corner (mavs never guard anyone in the corner) and just constantly knock down those threes. That should frustrate them and when they try to inbound the ball .... play some pressure D.

With dallas before the game starts i take out nowitzki, nash, finley and jamison from their starting line up and place crap players in. much easier to defeat them.
