training

Sun May 30, 2004 3:12 am

I got lots of training points an dI want to turn 1 of my bad players into a veery good player ( frank williams)
willl doing the training help him become a good point guard?
I notice if I do 100 of 1 thing and 0 of everything else, his other stats will fall which sucks.

Most people have been able to successfully use training mode by setting the sliders to 60-10-10-10, with the 60 slider being the area you wish to see improvement in. A setting of 10 generally seems to keep players from declining, while 60 should see slight improvement each time.

Even though it may seem like cheating, you might want to save and re-load with the training sessions. I would consider it a fair way to balance out the possibility of player's declining too much through the use of training.

if you're on the pc you can edit the file which detirmines how much players improve/decline in training. OPen up your dynasty save file (my documents\nba live 2004\saves\xxx, xxx being your save number) and change the values in the c_tt.dbf, pf_tt.dbf, sf_tt.dbf, sg_tt.dbf, and pg_tt.dbf. Just change the values to ones you feel are appropriate. Of course you can make your players improve 20 points by setting it to 0, but you don't have to cheat.

Training Patch

Fri Jun 04, 2004 6:34 pm

There was a Patch that someone had a link to in the forum somewhere that increased the Training enhancements just a bit (nothing too crazy) it worked well I thought, but I had to reinstall Windows and I reinstalled live and forgot to save the patch install and files ... anyone know how to find it?? had something to do with the c_tt.dbf files and stuff

Maybe you could try searching first before asking. Anyway, try this link: http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~nbalive/do ... le&id=2047

I'm back from Los Angeles!(not that anybody really missed me...)
60+10+10+10=90 from my calculations.

Since I feel the mod to change -1. -2. -3 to all 0's is a bit like cheating, I resort to the load/reload method so at least I'm keeping the integrity of how the training mode was stupidly made. So maybe the reload method is considered a less severe way of cheating.

Forewarning: once your player almost reaches his utmost potential, it may take 30-40 reloads to even gain +1. When the player is still 'raw' usually it'll only take about 10 reloads.

but it does work, I got Brian Cook from 45 to 67 and another one of my guys from low 70's to probably now mid 80's but it takes forever to improve upon that. If you sort the league players by overall ratings, you'll see that there are very few players ranked 85 and above.

Indeed it is. It should be 70-10-10-10, though you might want to leave the most important area at 60, while assigning 15 points to a couple of areas you really don't want to see any decline in.
