28 Games season in a dynasty mode

Postby cynicorens on Sat Feb 28, 2004 8:10 am

Hello
I have noticed that the dynasty seasonal bonuses remains being calculated on 82 games season (for example i have to score more than 8200 a season) even though i have started a 28 game season. what should i do ??
Thanks

1. there are never any news.
2. the computer does not initiate trades between me and it, or between his teams even that i have chosen computer initiated trades.
maybe i have those troubles because i have installed the latest patch from this site ?

NBA News shows injuries and transactions. The CPU initiates trades sometimes, simulate a few seasons and you should get one or two CPU-initiated trades. Last year there were two many. In 2005 EA should be able to get the right balance.

There shouldn't be any problems using the roster patch. I've noticed that sometimes the CPU doesn't trade much.

Ooo that gives me an idea....for upcoming Live's they should have it so you only play a 28 game season. But using the players AVG's, and Win/Loss record, it merely calculates what it would've been like if it was 82 games. (i.e. Ray Allen scores 20.0 ppg in 28 games 560 pts...want realistic season stats with only 28 games? Turn on this "option" and then bam it calculates the other 54 games at 20 ppg to give him 1640 pts on the season, etc, etc.)

If you are playing on PC, you can just change the requirements eg, 8200 points in a season to say 4100 or watever you want. You will have to go to the save folder for your dynasty and do this editing in the TaskList dbf.

The season tasks were designed for an 82 game season. It's an issue that should be resolved in NBA Live 2005. If you wanted, you could edited the task list criteria so that the tasks are more suited to a 28 game season. All you need to do is edit tasklist.dbf.

Hello everyone,

I just bought NBA Live 2004 and I have been experimenting with the tasklist to change the values to reflect a 6min/quarter, 28/game season.

I have had much success so far but have come against some issues I would like some advice with. Most values I am able to change with no problem, but there are others that I change that then don't change in the game.

For example, in player tasks, I cannot get the scores 20pts in game to change to 10pts even though I am changing the PTS_REQD field to 10. This is the same for the 30pts, 40pts, 50pts tasks. A few other Team task are like this as well where I change the value but it is not refected in the game.

Any suggestions would be great, I am also looking for some guides on editing the tasklist.dbf as well as editing c_tt.dbf etc. for changing the training affects.

So, anyone who knows anything on these subjects please post and please tell me of anyone who has learned a lot through experimentation etc.

Thankyou :D

I am a little surprised that nobody knows anything about what I have talked about above. You all must have a lot of time on your hands to be able to play 12minquarter 82game seasons.

Does anyone know ANYONE who has had some experience with making these DBF file modifications?

I really don't know what to suggest, except to make sure that you change all of the appropriate dbf files in the database folders.

Ok this is where I might be going wrong.

I have only been changing the tasklist.dbf in my save game folder (003). Do I also need to change is tasklist.dbf in other folders as well?, I don't really want to change it so every new game you create will go by the 28game 6min tasklist.

What other folders do I need to change the tasklist.dbf in for my current save game (003)?

You need to change the dbf files in all of the database folders (originaldbf, workingdb, etc). Obviously, you need only modify the files once then copy and paste to the other folders.
