Fouls

Postby Ymakino on Sat May 22, 2004 10:30 pm

Does anyone know what sliders I need to change in order for the CPU to head to the line more?

Every game I seem to go to the freethrow line around 25-30 times per game, but the CPU only usualy goes 8-10 times per game.

Are there any sliders that will help fix this problem?

If you turn up the reach-in foul sliders, you might find yourself over the limit a little more often, which should send the CPU to the line a little more. Please note that the CPU will also commit more fouls this way, but it might even things up a little.

Ok thanks, I'll try that.

What about sliders like 'on ball physical defense assist' and the rest which sound similar to that?. Should I turn the 'user' settings for these down lower?

If you turn it down, you're less likely to commit fouls. I'd stick to the other sliders in trying to get the CPU more free throw attempts.

Ok thanks.

It seems if I turn up the main foul sliders though, i'll go to the freethrow line twice as much as well. I'll try turning up my 'on ball defence assist' and see if that makes a difference.

"On Ball Defence Assist" is how well your team-mates can set picks to give you the open shot!!
If you want the CPU to get to the free throw line more, try fouling them more!! Don't let them get any fastbreak points whatsoever...

Yeah it depends on how you play too. For example if you don't contest their shots or you're really good at stopping penetrators/guys in the paint, they won't go to the line alot.

And if you just shoot jumpers as opposed to attacking the rim all the time you won't go to the line alot as well.

That's a good point. Jumping to block/contest shots rather than using the Hands Up defense with Freestyle Control will generally result in more foul calls. You might want to turn down the blocking sliders to make sure you don't get too many blocks though.
