I'm not gonna discuss anymore, I still think EA done a good job, not all faces are ass crappy as that van exel. Check out the Carter, Lebron, Iverson etc those are great. Anyhow live 2003 had better faces if I it remember right.

OK, slam harder... ur cyberfaces suck, so u dont have a right to talk. And plus, u say stuff about these EA patchers and how they have a life other then patching, blah blah blah. But its there f**kin job to design cyberfaces and wat not. So u cant really say that its ok for people to do a bad job in their "work" because they have other things they rather do.
In conclusion EA is not doing there thing. And things need to change for 2005.
ok im done. peace.

I do have right to say my opinion on EA cyberfaces wether you like my patches or not. However, you can't critize my patches when you ain't doing any cyberfaces yourself :!:

I have never said that its ok for people to do a bad job in their work because they have other things they rather do. Have you missed someting here? cause I have said several times that I don't think they have done a bad job

what the? slam's patches might not be the best but he has done some pretty nice patches( i.e. 50 ) your not even doing any patches urself. plus he has the right to talk as he buys the game too and has his own opinion about it.

Guys, cut it out. The quality of anyone's patches has nothing to do with the quality of EA's work. So don't insult people when we're all out to make fun of EA here  ;)

Obviously we're biased against EA because we've seen some of the work that people like Tony, Jen and others can come out with, and get spoiled by it. And its easy to break down numbers into statistics and say that if you do this many a day in this amount of time etc... but you gotta remember we're talking about human beings here and not computers, they're going to get tired of making patches over and over again and some won't be as good as others. Also, people have different opinions, so not everyone is going to like the faces. Furthermore, while patchers have a very good base of headshapes and bheads to start out with and a slew of pictures to use, EA has to do everything from scratch and (I'm assuming) due to copyright has a limited selection of pictures, so obviously they will have a harder time of it.

Don't get me wrong though, for $50 a lot of nba-live faces really suck bigtime. I was going to guess Byron Scott :D

Qweet, your point of view is interesting, but I don't agree :)

Once again, it's their job, I agree that it may be repetitive, but if they don't like their job, they'd better give up their places to skilled people who want to do this job. It's not like if the job was done by 12 years old AOLers on their leisure time.
I'm sure that guys like Tony would be mature and professional enough to do an high quality work all year long.

I partially agree. Some cyberfaces that I consider average quality may be satisfying enough for other people like Slam Harder.
But look at Tim Duncan : he looks like a monkey. Wally Szczerbiak is also horrible. Why did they do such bad work for them ? TD is a Superstar, and Wally World's for sure not a role player ! It's also a shame that Mehmet Okur, Tayshaun Prince, Manu Ginobili and Gordan Giricek (among others) have generic cyberfaces ! I really feel owned when I discovered this in the game, as if I have bought an unfinished product.
I can understand if Ronald Dupree has a generic cyberface, if Darvin Ham has a bad one, but one excuses for All-Stars like Duncan. If they don't take the time to give him a good cyberface, what else can they do ?

They surely have high quality pics provided by the NBA, or at last have an account at gettyimages where they take high quality picks. They have signed a contract with them ! And that would be a shame if they couldn't master the technology for headshapes they developped on their own.

Once again, it's just speculating, but as EA never explain their work we can always imagine whatever we want. If they'd speak more with us, explaining their process I'm sure we will be more comprehensive (and we would have the feeling that they take care of us)

I didn't know that ;)

There's always going to be a few that don't turn out as well, or people don't like.

Otherwise, I totally agree with you. EA shouldn't claim realistic faces on their game if they're not going to make them realistic :P

Oh, and by the way, if you want to see some funny EA facework check out Carlos Arroyo and Jiri Welsh's bheds ;)

Mehmet Okur, Tayshaun Prince, Manu Ginobili and Gordan Giricek (among others) have generic cyberfaces

Thanks for notifying me...I'll make sure I download the patches for these guys right away!

I guess the related question is…
Are the cyberfaces in the console games just as bad as the ones for our PC platform? In other words, perhaps, are we PC users the ones getting 'passed' on while the console users are not. I take it it's universal but I just don't know.

Also, I noticed that the PC version always seems to be 10 bucks cheaper across the EA sports line and then drops to around $20 shortly after Christmas whereas the Console prices remain the same…any reasoning behind this? I'm just sourcing from Bestbuy, Amazon.com, and Gamestop though…it could be different in other outlets.

The console users have cyberfaces that are the exact same so...I think PC users have an advantage because we/they can patch the faces and make them look better.

And my guess for your second comment is that consoles are waaaay more popular than PC's right now. Almost everyone has an XBOX, GC, PS2, and what not. The consoles also dont have to be updated every couple of years like PC does. EA just knocks down the price so more people will buy it. If I go to the store right now, I can find Live 2003 for $10 on PC, but $20 on console. Live 2004 is still 50 on console, but 20 on PC.
