I can't help but noticed how underrated Gilbert Arenas is in some areas... I'm not a huge fan of him, and really more a critic than anything else, but he's known around the league for his amazing quickness, he may not be great at much else but he's quicker than or ATLEAST on the same level as guys like shamond williams, jalen rose, manu ginobili... which he's rated SIGNIFICANTLY slower and quicker than... i'm sure if you asked some guys on the wizards who was faster/quicker they wouldn't rate juan dixon 18 higher at both attributes... just my thoughts, definitely open to input

a few suggestions
increase lebrons speed and steal ratings
increase dalemberts blocking
increase arenas and hughes
increase damon jones,lee nailon,chucky atkins
increase darius miles in rebounds and shooting ,stephen jackson
decrease
allen iverson, glenn robinson, jalen rose,
(finley, jamison, walker, nash, nowitzki )shooting a little bit cus they jus drain every shot in the game and i tried changing sliders but they dont work
and plus only nash and noqwitzki contribute really to the team and sometimes finley

ill post some more suggestions later
and you know what teams to decrease and increase the overall right andrew?
Tue Apr 06, 2004 8:43 pm
I have a good idea which teams need changing, but as I said before I won't just boost or reduce players unnecessarily to change the team's overall rating. I know that the team's overall rating is significant, but I don't want to adjust it at the expense of unrealistic player performance, both in gameplay and their simulated statistics.
I'll consider the latest suggestions for individual players.

yo i got a good plan for nba live 2005
instead of giving players ratings by numbers they should use scales for everything
for example if somone scores 23.4 points per game , 4.6 boards and 6.2 assists per game
they should be put into a range so for points itll be like 20-30 range rebounds 0-5 and assists 5-10 so the stats will come out as intended and if the player wants to score more than their average they have to play with the sliders favoring them so itll be harder to score after their average
soes anyone agrre with this understand whatim sayin
itll be much easier to do ratings

Kswish, if they could make ratings that corresponded exactly as you requested, then we wouldn't have gameplay flaws. My point is that you are asking for a perfect game, and then a scaling of the ratings. So, it's not gonna happen. If you want a general idea of how to scale the current ratings, simulate a season, get the stats then do some math / statistical analysis. In any case, your idea, at face value, doesn't make any sense for offensive ratings. PPG != a single rating. A big guy and a guard can both score 20ppg, but do it in different ways. OTOH, you could have a couple of uber-ratings like PPG which result from a formula based on the current ratings. However, coming-up with that formula is, I would guess, nearly impossible.

The best method might be to bring back the Dstats, but allow for some kind of season-to-season adjustment so that players decline as they get older.

Maglogier's rating never changed.
Tue Apr 13, 2004 2:35 pm
I remember updated Magloire a few updates ago. I didn't think he needed changing since then.

What about Cassell and Billups?
Tue Apr 13, 2004 3:23 pm
I know I've edited them in previous updates. What changes do you suggest?
Tue Apr 13, 2004 3:58 pm
Thanks for continuing to take suggestions, Andrew. A few small things about my Knicks' FT ratings.
For this season,
Frank Williams 85%
Dermarr Johnson: 89%
Moochie Norris: 77%
Vin Baker: 73%
Those are the bench players I glanced at in the game, and they are all rated in the 60s in game! If you get a chance, could you adjust them? Not a big deal, obviously, especially as it's pretty easy to hit FTs with them anyway, but it could have an effect on simulation.

I gotta give final plug for Marquis Daniels.....I am watching him play on TV right now and this guy is VERY talented....soooo patient on offense - dribbles in, makes space and drops shots with ease.... and quite a good defender too - seems to have go-go-gadget arms to get steals and change shots.
His averages in his last 9 games: 19.7ppg, 5.8rpg, 4.4apg, 41.1mpg....and he is dman near a triple-double as 3/4 time in today's game vs the grizzlies.
This on a star studded team - plus he is actually playing a big role in making them win.
I think his FG, ball handling, stealing, dribbling and maybe offensive and defensive awareness could be boosted.....maybe a little speed increase too - he's no speed freak, but he's deceptively quick.
And his FT rating should definitely go up - he's shooting 77% in the NBA, but his rating is 64 in roster patch.
Do u get the feeling I really like this guy

I have to agree. Every time I've seen this Daniels guy play (2-3 times) he has NOT looked like a scared undrafted rookie (which is what he is). The kid has a lot of talent, and he has poise you don't expect from a first year player, drafted or not. Don Nelson does not like to play rookies... and Daniels is getting the time, which tells me something too.

Andrew, any news about a regular season ending roster?
Imo, it's the most important roster update now, we have all the season to make a head to head if the players, with acurrate ratings
That will be the most important roster to play now....
Oh, btw, i have a suggestion for you, i don't know if someone else already said that, but when you arrange the subs player, take a look at the nba.com site, and see the average time for those players, it will be more realist in this way, just the subs players, and not the rating position, ok?
See ya!

As I said about a week ago, I will be releasing the next version as soon as the playoffs rosters are released ie. when the regular season ends. v1.07 will be the final regular season rosters (with playoff rosters for the 16 teams in the postseason), and there might be a couple of updates through the playoffs.

That's what I'm already doing, only I use the latest rotations rather than the players' season minutes per game average.
Thanks for all the suggestions. As usual, I cannot guarantee I'll put each one to use as I may not agree with the changes or reasoning, but each will be considered and I'll try to meet everyone halfway on the requests.

But he is the best player of April in eastern.
Sat Apr 17, 2004 4:59 pm
Yes, but I have to take into account a player's performance for the whole season so that I can assign ratings that are consistent.
Sun Apr 18, 2004 1:14 pm
Can you tell me the accurate time of updating 1.07?
Sun Apr 18, 2004 5:36 pm
It should be out later tonight (Sunday, 18th April).
