10 player NBA LIve on PC?

Wed Feb 04, 2004 6:45 pm

IF my PC has 10 USB ports and 10 gamepads, will 5 on 5 USers in NBA Live work?
Right now, i've got 2 PS2 gamepads connected to my PC using a 2player USB adapter.

We play 4 on4 user games on PS2 NBA LIve using two multi-taps.
It's the way NBA LIve should be played. the gameplay is almost perfect. none of teh stupi AI tendecies cheating .

but 5 on 5 would be awesome. i hop it' possible on the PC.

Don't tempt me... that sounds too good to be true. Your idea raises the question of how do you get a display big enough for ten players to see at once? I love my 19" monitor, but I couldn't fit ten people on this room, let alone have them all see the screen well enough to play. How do you manage with eight players on the PS2? You must have a pretty nice TV.

The best would be if this could be done online via Xbox Live. Imagine it... it would be like playing pick-up ball without leaving home, something which I find very appealing when it's so freaking cold outside. :D

well if you have a S-Video cable and a decent graphics card with a TV/Video Out component he could just hook it right up to his 50" plasma if he wants. I do that from time to time, but usually just stick with monitor anyway. That's my guess of what he's doing with 10, then just spread out across the room.

Well that would assume that he has a 50" plasma screen, which, considering the cost, is a fairly large assumption. As I put it, "you must have a very nice TV." Also, you are assuming that the guy's PC is reasonably near / moveable to said nice TV.

Anyhow, it sounds like so much fun, I'm jealous.

U dont have to have a big screen!!

just find a way to split your PC to monitor cable (whatever it's called) so that you can have an unlimited number of MOnitors ! (I think 2-3 is enough for 8 players)

THe Ps2 AV cables can also be split so that you can hook up your PS2 to any number of TVs (2 big TVs is enough four 8 players)

Well I play 2 players same PC and I hook mine up with my TV-Out to my tiny 25in. If you have a 40+ inch Projection it should be doable for a 10player game if possible. I think it may support up to 8 players but I don't know about 10. I've never heard of any sports game supporting more than 8 players, but I could be wrong

Man now i have to try this, although i don't have any gamepads, and half of my friends aren't b-ball fans...now to convert them to basketball, and find out how to obtian 10 gamepads..........

Speaking of plasma screens

I've got a small apartment and no life so my PC is hooked up to a 42" plasma. Saves the space of having a computer desk, chunky monitor, etc. I just use my coffee table as a desk for my wireless keyboard.

Speaking of which, after playing Live '04 on a widescreen, when I see it on a regular monitor, the players look elongated and tall. Like those old kung-fu flicks from the 80's.
