Kicked from online game for pausing too much

Postby oboeguy on Fri Dec 26, 2003 3:31 pm

I was playing against this really cool dude who was whooping my butt, so I would pause to ask how he does this or that, etc. The guy (I assume it was a guy lol) was very obliging, giving me lots of pointers, and was friendly so I'd pause to say "nice shot" or something once in a while and the freaking game kicked me for pausing too much without a warning. I see why the feature is in there but no warning? Come on. I didn't even get to finish the game with someone who could teach me a lot about playing well. :( :( :(

Edit: gah! grammar

Even if it isn't xbox live...man u shouldn't be talking to much while playing the game. 'Coz if u continue to pause a lot during the game, the server might think ur either...having problems with your connection or something else.

Try to finish the game first then talk about the how to's when the game is over ok.

If your really that interested to learn tips and tricks then this is what messageboards are for...and not pause after pause after pause during the actual gameplay even if the other guy is willing to tell or not.

Well, the other thing is that I like to keep my guys on the floor fresh so I sub a lot. Add a couple of minor conversations, and BOOM! I got kicked. :( Plus, messageboards are not good for "how did you just do that?" stuff.

oboeguy, I had the same problem, TWICE!

The first time I was unaware.

The second, I made one of two free throws with 6 seconds left, tying the game at 72 or somewhere in that range (doesnt matter the score)

Anyways, I kept pausing to check how many timeouts i had left, and subbing in my defenders. I had already checked for how many timeouts i had left earlier in the quarter, so I got booted.

DAMNIT

Hehe, yeah, I hear you man. I make offensive-defensive subs a lot... I really have to be careful. You'd think they'd give a warning or at least have some sort of way of tracking if you're doing anything useful when you pause.
