WHERE IS THE TEAM/PLAYER PROGRESS GRAPH?!!

Postby FerdBrown on Sun Dec 07, 2003 11:45 pm

 HI!

I'd really like to know what happned to the NBA LIVE 2001's Player / Team Progress Graph. Really, really helps in the Dynasty.

Please any thoughts on this?

Where is it? What happened to it? Anybody appreciated it?

Yeah, I was really, really pi**ed, when I saw it wasn't there anymore. Why did they banish that function? There is just no reason to do so. Sometimes I just can't follow EA anymore. What were they thinking? Leaving it out screws the whole dynasty mode, when you are not able to look at your players' progress over the years.

The graph wasn't there even in Live 2003... Live 2001 had it last and it was all screwed up...

Live 2000 I believe has the only good development graph that Live has ever had.

I haven't gotten through a season yet, but is there no way to follow the development of your players???

BTW... The training mode sucks... You never get good results with it... I tried to do a more athletic training with it and lot's of guys lost on many attributes on other areas, as expected, but only one guy increased his strength and nothing else. No one else got any increases, just decreases.

Yeah, but Live '03 still listed the improvements and decline in rating, even if it wasnt quite as clear. There's really no way of telling in Live '04. Unless you know all your players' ratings back-to-front. I guess you could save the ratings to a text file at the end of the season, and look from there. But who can be bothered? Seriously? Thats enough whining from me. For now. But sooner or later, i'm gonna realise that theres no slam dunk contest. and thats really gonna get me pissed off.

AND YOU DONT WANNA SEE ME MAD. :x :x :x :x

:o Hi guys!

Thanks for the support. Hey, I agree with debiler. EA's like those silly teeny-boppers, kept changing their mind.

Metsis is right. The Team/Player Progress Graph is THE ONLY way to track down your team or players' development. Sadly EA removed it. I heard somewhere that this add-minus-routine is a scheme to get more revenues from the NBA LIVE Series fans. Bad, I guess, if that was true.

Tyson, thanks. Can we all do something to get it back? Well, not necessarily becoming EA's programmer... :)

Live 2000 had the good graphs... Live 2003 had a decent followup system, but to forget to implement this into the game is unacceptable...

This is one of the most fundamental features of the dynasty mode, so you can follow up on your players. Which players may someday become NBA usable and which are just total busts.

This has to be in the game... Otherwise there will be too much left for guessing.

I just thought of something... You might be able to follow up the AI player development... The stats are simulated from the ratings and if the stats are on the rise, well the guy probably is too, but this is not necceserily a sure thing, case one player might play from the bench one season and be starting the next so you can't really compare...

But check the stats... They are pretty accurate, even for human players. So if a guy is scoring 3 points more then he did last season, his ratings have probably raised unless his role has changed. Like maybe you lost a scorer in the off season and you have to compensate for the lost points.

Well you get the idea... The statistics tell no lies. Numbers don't lie...

That's about the size of it. We could tell em how we feel, but they've got other stuff to take care of. Best thing we can do is use my method for now and hope that EA realises the benefits of the graph feature and includes it in 2005.
Cross your fingers.
The graph isnt that important when you're playing your dynasty, as opposed to simming it. By the time you're about 10 games into your dynasty, you generally know most of your players' overall ratings. Or maybe thats just my stupid photographic memory.

Observe:

year 2 - Wizards Dynasty

F/C - Kwame Brown 65 ovr
PF - Kendrick Lawson (rookie) 68 ovr
SF - Darius Miles 64 ovr
SG - LeBron James 70 ovr
PG - Gilbert Arenas 67 ovr

G/F - Jarvis Hayes 63 ovr
F - Jonathan Bender 60 ovr
F/G - Qyntel Woods 57 ovr
C/F - Samaki Goode (rookie) 51 ovr
PG - Steve Blake 52 ovr
C - Chris Mihm 51 ovr
G/F - Travis Hansen 52 ovr

PG - Travis Best 49 ovr
SF - Cyril Boyes (rookie) 46 ovr
SG - Fred Jones 33 ovr

Because i didnt do that with someone looking over my shoulder, i guess you'll just have to take my word for it that those are the exact correct official super-dooper accurate overall ratings for all of my players.

Or if you're a normal person, you wont really give a crap.

Vote: Kendrick Lawson R.O.Y. Last 12 games: 17.4 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 1.6 bpg, 2.9 apg. Season: 11.4 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 1.2 bpg, 1.6 apg

Samaki Goode All-Rookie team. Last 12 games: 7.7 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 1.1 bpg. Season: 6 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 1 bpg, 1 apg
