Help taking the ball to the hoop

Fri Nov 14, 2003 7:00 am

I'm having a lot of trouble trying drive around my defender to get to the hoop. First of all it's hard to turn around and face the defender because my guy always has his back turned protecting/dribbling the ball. I have the PC version by the way. Can someone give me some tips?

yeah I've got the same question...how the hell do you turn your guy around? I can understand that he's protecting the ball but when I do a pick and roll...I want to TURN and shoot the ball..by the time the guy does turn i'm guarded again.. :(

I just back up and do a standing crossover. The crossover will keep your man faced up most of the time.

I still don't know how to face up after pick and roll but I can cross my guy now. Basically, when your back is facing the guy, press the direction of the hand that is dribbling the ball on the right analog stick. Then as he will face up a little, you press the oppositve direction with the left analog stick. That will do a pretty good crossover. Experiment in practice mode. You'll be surprised as to what you might find. Meanwhile, please post moves you have found.

I also found f you have a pretty good point guard, just press the crossover button to quickly cross your guy. The cross over button is straight down on either the right analog or left analog. Basically, that move is easier to do when you have momentum.

Oh yea, when you do a move and get past a player but the player seems to be catching up again and is about to stop you from driving to far, just press dunk. With a good dunker like Vince, he'll just pick up the ball and power his way in the last 2 steps for a tomahawk jam. Don't press pro hop during those situations when you are just trying to beat a man 1 on 1 off the dribble.
