This is something EA needs to fix in Live 2004...

Fri Jul 18, 2003 12:09 pm

They really, really need to fix the kind of shorts the 80's All Stars wear, I mean, those guys didn't wear the knee length shorts...WTF EA! Have they never seen a game from the 80's???

I don't recall ever seeing Larry Bird running around in knee length shorts...I hope they fix this, but they probably won't.

Call me crazy, but I'm still gonna buy the game regardless of the shorts. That can actually be fixed with a little editing for the PC version.

Fri Jul 18, 2003 12:23 pm

I didn't say i wasn't gonna buy it, I just think its something that needs to be fixed...Do you not agree that long shorts on 80's players are annoying?

Fri Jul 18, 2003 1:17 pm

It doesn't bother me greatly, but shorter shorts would be more realistic.

Fri Jul 18, 2003 4:39 pm

as andrew just mentioned, shorter shorts would make them more realistic... but i don't mind if EA doesn't do anything with regards to that detail...

cheers!

Who knows, we might even get a team editor that allows us to change those sorts of things ourselves. But like I said, it doesn't bother me greatly.

That is kind of odd... Cause Stockton wears the short shorts. Why haven't they put them on the classic teams then is a total mystery...

Man Stockton looks awful in those shorts in Live 2003.

It just seems like laziness on EA's part...

Old style shorts are in 2003, and the 50's, 60's and 70's teams wear them. They didn't use them on the 80's team or the current Stockton, though legend Stockton does have them.
I have also edited for use on my created Celt's, Lakers, Hawks and 76er's custom teams, though I can only get them to work on thin players. I'd like to see the shoties on other sizes too, anybody remember the 86 Philidelphia "two tons of fun" front line of Barkley, and Mahorn.

I know they are on the 50's 60's and 70's, I want them on the 80's.

I think an ideal solution would be to have shorts length an attribute in one of the DBF files (either teamgear.dbf or players.dbf, or maybe both).

Sun Jul 20, 2003 12:56 pm

it could be like NBA 2K3, where you can edit shorts length in game

Sun Jul 20, 2003 1:00 pm

Exactly, which would result in shorts length being controlled by a value in one of the DBF files.

Mon Jul 21, 2003 5:36 am

the shorts r a good point but i'll still like it jus fine if they dont do it

... and will take double more space for jerseys.

Thu Jul 24, 2003 4:50 pm

I don't think space would be a problem.

CD space would be a problem rather than HDD space.

I meant CD space.
