Who do you think?

Thu May 15, 2003 9:40 pm

Who do you think should be the cover of Live'04? Personally i want Tracy Mcgrady.

At this stage, I'd be inclined NOT to pick Yao Ming or Tracy McGrady, simply because they've already been used in the banner logo over at the official site. Of course, EA may not bother to keep it a secret this year, but it seems unlikely that they would reveal the cover player (or players) in this manner.

I guess it could be pretty much anyone, though you could probably eliminate these players:

Kobe (signed with Nintendo for Courtside series)
Shaq (NBA Live 96)
Richmond (NBA Live 97, not in league, no longer All-Star player anyway)
Tim Hardaway (NBA Live 98, no longer All-Star)
Antoine Walker (NBA Live 99)
Tim Duncan (NBA Live 2000)
Kevin Garnett (NBA Live 2001)
Steve Francis (NBA Live 2002)
Jason Kidd (NBA Live 2003)
Michael Jordan (cameo on Live 2000 box, retired)
Any player who is the cover player for any other NBA title

If we're also going to eliminate T-Mac and Yao Ming since they've already appeared in NBA Live 2003 previews...how about Dirk Nowitzki?

IMO Ben Wallace is the best choice

Thu May 15, 2003 10:34 pm

Could be the Beast, but it seems it's usually a perennial All-Star chosen for the cover, in most cases a scorer, and someone who usually makes the highlight reels (at the offensive end). I suggested Nowitzki basically because he's a recent All-Star who hasn't appeared on the cover before, and as far as I know isn't signed with another company. Personally, I'd choose T-Mac, but as I said, I doubt it's him.

Still, I don't know any more than anyone else. They might even put someone on the box who's been there before, though I somehow doubt that.

Or maybe it will be T-Mac and Yao on the box, though since the box features an action shot of the real player and that image uses players taken from the game, I'm still skeptical. :)

Not Allen Iverson, since his with NBA2k3 and very surely with NBA2k4.
I suggest Steve Francis, no, after a secon thought: LEBRON JAMES!!!

Fri May 16, 2003 7:59 am

Nah..no LeBron James. Cause he never played a NBA game before and maybe he will flop, I would go with Jermaine O´Neal, Big Ben or the dunking Deutchman

Fri May 16, 2003 8:16 am

A Nowitzki cover wouldn't sell the game real well (hmm.. maybe in Germany though).

These are my choices:

Ben Wallace
Tracy McGrady
Steve Francis
Chris Webber

lol as good as Paul Pierce is, I think the cover would look ugly with him on it

Fri May 16, 2003 1:45 pm

Does Chris Webber still have a deal with the developers of NBA Jam? If so, he won't be on the cover. Though he'd be a good choice. (Y)

Fri May 16, 2003 2:37 pm

TMac would be the best choice since he wasn't in any cover before.
I would personally like AI on the cover, but oh well, he's with Sega :(

T Mac was on the cover of the worst NBA games from last year called "Starting 5"
if that even counts as a game

I say pick A.I. and show those Sega bastards not only did they sell more games but now they took there star player too :D

2004 looks very promising. But, I haven't seen trading of draft picks yet?

Fri May 16, 2003 3:52 pm

Chris Webber has appeared on one of the NBA Shootout games, so I don't think EA will pick him again.

I think Steve Nash could be a good choice, since a lot of people like his style of basketball.

Fri May 16, 2003 4:16 pm

Stevie Franchise was on the 2002 cover.

I want Baron Davis on the cover, but I doubt that will happen. It will probably be Dirk.

Fri May 16, 2003 4:31 pm

The cover they have looks good to me.. and having Yao on it is a good marketing move because it will help the game sell in the biggest video game selling demographic.

Sat May 17, 2003 1:13 am

I think Paul Pierce, Ben Wallace or Chris Webber would be the best choices...(Y)

Personally i'd like PP to be on it. (Y) i would buy it. :D

Sat May 17, 2003 8:01 am

Paul Pierce was on the cover of NBA Inside Drive 2003 wasn't he?

Sat May 17, 2003 8:19 am

that was vince i think

i think they should include...UMM....how about....jason richardson hahahahhahaha. mabye if he had some real noticable basketball skill, then mabye, but I think steve nash is a good choice...or webber...

Sat May 17, 2003 9:44 am

I'd go with Paul Pierce or McGrady... (Y)

Sat May 17, 2003 9:53 am

My guess (or hope) would be Steve Nash or Yao Ming. As dumbass has said, putting Yao Ming on the cover is probably a good marketing plan for EA.

Zo should be on the cover;)

Who is this LeBron James??? I have heard his name, but have never seen him play... Is he in the NBA?

Google, when I searched for Lebron james, wrote:Searched the web for lebron james. Results 1 - 10 of about 38,700. Search took 0.05 seconds.

He looks cocky... He'll flop... Like Olawakandi and Lamar Odom...
KG, Kobe and A.I will show him... So will GP...

I can't stand T-Mac

Oops, forgot.

I don't think that 'Bron will flop, 'cause Kobe, KG, T-Mac didn't, and it seems that 'Bron has a higher skill level at that age.

Sat May 17, 2003 7:21 pm

I don't think LeBron will be on the cover though. It's going to be one of the top players in the NBA, who hasn't signed with another company and probably hasn't been on the cover of Live before.

Sat May 17, 2003 10:10 pm

I would like to see either T-Mac, Nowitzki, Nash be on the cover. Jerry Stackhouse or Kwame Brown would be nice though! :)
