And then give a button for complaining to the ref if a player would wish to do so... I sometimes get so frustrated in the game that I'd like to say a few things about that "offensive foul" every now and then
That would would be so cool. Every time I get one of those "offensive fouls" called on me I audibly yell at my computer and want to take a sledgehammer to it and/or rip out the disk drive. I would hit the complaint button a lot. It would be a game in itself. I'm sure it would be a very popular feature. And maybe sometimes when I complain and a situation gets out of hand, players and coaches from the other team would get upset and that would be the opportunity for fights and suspensions and maybe injuries in severe situations.
I am not sure though whether it would be better if the ref would "warn" you before he tees you up and along the way you would have choices whether to react player confrontation or choose to stop before it starts, or whether everything would be random and you would have no control over the situation. And if it was decided that the ref would warn players every time, then would it be better to have a set number of warns (like 1) or if the number of warns (0-whatever) is dependent upon: ref "fuse" rating, player "fuse", "likeability", "fan favorite", etc. ratings, situation, time left in game, playoffs or regular season, and maybe even which arena (sacramento and philly are hostile).
Just bouncing around ideas like I always do.
